Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Wifi was very poor so it wasn't worth using. Good Air-conditioning but the one in the living room makes strange noises. Shower heads fell off on first use so we had to fix with glue. Afterwards it worked ok. We had real difficulty checking in but it was partly my fault as I hadn't followed the email instructions to get the door code. Either way you have to call them when you are at the front door as they release the lock remotely. We were given a different apartment than the one we reserved but worked out ok.
Good location 10 mins walk to Placa Catalonia. Lots of supermarkets cafes and bars in the area. Comfortable and clean. Had everything we needed. Overall we were happy with it.

The neighbors are not happy with this apartment being touristic and they are showing this really clearly. In too many ways they show you that y you shouldn’t be there, not a nice feeling at all.

some confusion over the address as different confirmation emails gave different street numbers - hence pre arranged taxi dropped us a the wrong address. Hosts were good and came quickly to help us find and access the property. outer door wouldn't open with the app so we had to use a key. getting in and out using different apps and keys was a bit of a palavar, but not a major problem.
very conveniently situated, in a nice neighbourbood, close to bus and metro stops.

I had to repeatedly chase both the apartment owners and booking.com in order to receive my deposit back. The same thing has happened to my friend who stayed in the same building. This was supposed to have been returned 24 hours after departure and I did not receive it back until 2 weeks later. If I had not chased this I would never have received it back.
Facilities were excellent and easy to use. Good location, walking distance to metro. The area was reasonably quiet at night and the air conditioning was fab.

this was probably the worst place I've stayed in the last 10 years. The apartment is very worn out, even the seemingly simple works have not been done. The only windows are on the courtyard. The apartment is super unstable. It is not a place to spend holidays with the family.

The key card didn’t work on two consecutive nights so we had to call the emergency number, which wasn’t a simple process. The first night it happened we called several times then eventually the agent picked up and let us in. The consecutive night it happened it took a lot longer having had to speak to several agents we eventually were able to enter the property. This really wasn’t acceptable and I will be pursuing a refund.

As the tourist season wraps up, both apartments could benefit from maintenance. We faced issues with the WiFi connectivity, and the bathrooms had mold. Additionally, the doors rely on an app that requires a passport copy, but its privacy policy is unclear with no evident method to delete your personal data.
We stayed at both apartments in Bruc 42, and I recommend the 6-person apartment due to its superior layout and facilities.

We had a little trouble getting in the first time when we arrived, and the automatic electric shutoff was frustrating when everyone didn't leave at the same time. These were very small issues as overall we absolutely loved our stay and would definitely go back!
The apartment was lovely and nicely set up. the beds were very comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed! Loved the view and our stay! Would definitely stay here when we return to Barcelona!

The position is very good. 5-10 minutes from plaza de Catalunya, with a lot of metro stops really close. The apartment is super comfy also for 6 friends, with all of the comforts. .

Good location. 5 min walking to Tetuan metro, 8 min to Arco de Triunfo de Barcelona, 8 min to Plaça de Catalunya. Very spacious apartment. Clean, with comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Just remember to turn right from the main entrance to the lift hidden behind the corner.

Avoid this company at all costs. They took 200 EUR of my money as a 'security deposit'. It's been 2 weeks since the date when they said they'd refund it but instead I am still waiting and they continue to ignore my messages

Coming to the apartment and using the door codes did NOT work. We were not able to enter the main building with the code. Luckily, residents from the buildng coul let us in. Opening the apartment with the code worked but the door knop to open the door physically was very hard to open. We had 2 bathrooms - but it was not possible to shower at the same time, then the water got cold in one of them. We only just had enough toilet per for the days we were staying. Not possible to turn of the heater in one the rooms. No storage at the apartment/building :-( We needed to book storage for our luggage online and pay for it - the nearest place was 1 km away.
The apartment was overall OK. Location was perfect.
