Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Nothing to complain about.
Great value for money. Friendly, family run hotel. Good breakfast & dinner options. Good for vegetarians & meat eaters. Bar with shaded area outside. Helpful staff giving advice & offering transport assistance when possible. Lovely experience overall.

A bit outdated rooms with some small things which could get fixed and do not need big investment. Could think of a bigger renovation, but obviously prices would have to be higher.
Very friendly staff, a nice restaurant option in a village close by, a friendly bunch of people gathered in the courtyard around the bar

Absence of good ventilation in the bathroom.
Very quiet place. Ping pong, petanque, and soccer ball were available for free..Good breakfast. Friendly staff.. Good value for money. Possibility to have a drink outside under the shade of trees.

It was a pity that we could not have dinner at the place itself, but the dinner was made available at a near-by restaurant (Auberge Casa Mathea) of the same staff. With limited resources they did an amazing job but they could clearly use some help to speed things up at the restaurant. The hotel is in a beautiful spot and could be (or once was?) a wonderful place, however resources seem to lack to maintain the property. Note that the address in booking.com is incorrect or incomplete; locate the hotel on Google maps yourself to navigate correctly.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are simple and clean. Breakfast was decent with tasty croissants and bread, though there was soured milk around.

the bathroom was very old, and can probably need a renovation, but the water was warm and everything worked, so all good for us!
the people were super friendly and spoke good English, that was a first for is in Corsica! breakfast was wonderful.

The hotel was situated in the area that I wanted to stay. Although I don't speak French and the staff spoke little English we coped well and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Compared to a lot of pubs in England the bar was always kept clean.

The hotel is situated in a very nice position, perfect to explore Corte and the area. Nearby there are many charming little villages (we went to one of them to have dinner). Breakfast is nice, with fresh fruit and very good jam.

Though the hotel was good value for money, it was just too hot to not have even a fan in the room. We slept with wet towels on us to cool us down... then the doors are very noisy so you will be woken up early. Whilst this wasn't a problem for us, it's really a one-night stop hotel. I would come back if there were fans in the rooms.
We needed a hotel along the main road from Bastia to Ajaccio and didn't have much choice but this hotel was better than expected. It seems to be the same people who run this hotel and a restaurant in the neighbouring village meaning they are not present in the hotel from around 18h, however check in was easy, they sent us instructions and we arrived with no problems. It is a simple hotel and we were worried about road noise but we had a room on the other side of the building and heard nothing though we slept with the window open. We ate in the restaurant that night which was good and they offer a dinner/breakfast deal too.
