Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceIt is just a pity that there is no lift (because it is a monument historique). It's a long climb to the top floor, even though the staircase is splendid. A tiny niggle. We old folk find it very difficult to have the wine list and menus on a tablet!
Everything. lt was a lovely overnight and we shall be back.

AustraliaThere was no lift and we were not offered any assistance in dragging our luggage up the long flights of stairs.
Excellent chateau Hotel in the Dordogne close to the river, and opposite to Chateau Milandes, the former home of Josephine Baker, and a short 10 min drive to the centre of Sarlat. We had a splendid room on the second floor with fine views to the spectacular Chateau de Beynac from our window and terrace. The associated restaurant was excellent with a superb wine list. The chateau had an fine library/ lounge room on the first floor.

AustraliaLike staying in a Fairytale…everyone should stay in a chateau at least once. Amazing setting, food and customer service. We felt very special. Even after hiking in searing heat for 4 days…we were very spoilt.

IsraelThere is no elevator in the chateaux building which we weren't aware of, it's something to take into consideration for guests with accessibility issues or older people. We and our elderly parents had to carry our luggage to the second (top) floor ourselves. We came with a large family (booked 3 rooms) and the only place we could sit together in the evening and have a light meal was outside, and it wasn't possible in rain. The staff didn't offer another solution. Also the staff in the reception was only partially helpful in providing information about attractions in the area, for example they didn't inform us about a local festival and fireworks that was held in the nearby town, and we knew about it from a road sign. I would expect a hotel inform its guests about special events in the areas.
Wonderful and beautiful location and hotel amenities. The family room in the chateaux was surprisingly spacious. The breakfast was tasty and varied both for kids and adults. We liked the two pools, the playground with the ball net, and the efficient laundry room which we could use for free.

United KingdomWe loved everything and could not fault any part of our stay. Okay we couldn't get into the restaurant on our 3rd night but that was our fault for leaving it so late to book!
Our room was on the ground floor located at the back of the hotel. It was HUGE, clean, fabulous bed linen, smart TV and enormous bathroom with walk in shower. Large wardrobe, drawers, Even though there were rooms above it was so quiet. The waiter even remembered our choice of wine from the previous evenings meal!

FranceWell, i just wish that swimming pool access could be granted after 8pm, specially because summer season is becoming increasingly hot in this part of the country... So, it's super hot until very late in the evening in summer and it's day light until 10pm .... How can you not be allowed to go for a swim? Well, because it's against the rules.... Rules need to evolve ;)
Nice charm double bedroom on the very top of the castle with amazing view. Excellent products for breakfast with a lot of choice. 2 heated swimming pools. Property super well maintained and in an excellent location !

United KingdomA beautiful place to stay that is very close to all of the main places in the area that you may want to visit, such as Beynac and Castelnaud castles, and very easy to get canoes on the river close by. It is very peaceful and relaxing and we really liked the family swimming pool at the back of the chateau. The breakfast was very delicious and in a lovely setting.
