Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The bathroom was not very comfortable and it is very outdated - it needs some renovation.
The hotel is conveniently located between the train station and the beach promenade surrounded by bars, cafes, restaurants and offering easy access to everything. The room was spacious and comfortable for two guests. We didn’t try the breakfast.

The room was spotless. But the hotel needs renovating. It looks alittle tired.
Lovely staff and great location. 2 minutes from tram to and from airport. 7 mins to promenade. And 10 minutes to train station.

I only had one issue, which was not the hotels issue, and that was the guests above our room running around their room till late at night and banging about while not respecting those around or below. However, this is not a reflection on the Hotel at all
Fantastic staff on break in the city of Nice. Hotel Grimaldi as superb. The room, facilities, cleanliness, and advice were excellent. Very comfortable Hotel. Staff were brilliant and very helpful. Fantastic location for everything nice and southern France has to offer. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. Thanks for the stay and experience. 😀

Time to time key lock wasn't working properly.
Everything was very good. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Balcony small but had nice view. Bed was ok, pillows was very comfortable.

Asked for 25 euros extra per night to upgrade and give us a higher floor (since I requested a higher floor), otherwise suggested to accept a room in 2nd or 3rd floor. Not sure why they didn’t offer a room in floors 4-10?! Also hair dryers malfunction.

We stayed in a superior room, it was very spacious, and well equipped, the view was pretty nice. The location of the hotel is good, it has a metro station near by, but also you can walk to Promenade des Anglais by foot. Also, the train station is close, so it is easy to visit many other cities on the Riviera. The breakfast was quite diverse, with fresh products. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Nice.

The coffee machine could have been a bit newer, as the one we had was very loud and kind of glitchy.
Very comfortable room, big cosy bathroom, nice staff. Free coffee in the lobby, as well and the sparkling and still water. Beautiful courtyard and all in all wonderful design.

One difficult was locating hotel when we arrived....no sign over door....only mat at entrance had Hotel name .

Everything was good. There was some building works during the day, These will be completed soon and will improve moving between the reception and the building where the rooms are.
The staff and facilities are well thought out. The lobby had umbrellas for guests to use. The doors had draught exlcuders to stop cold air getting in the rooms. Complimentary coffee and water was offered throughout the hotel. You could provide details online beforehand to expedite check in. The hotel also called me before arrival to make sure my details were correct and whether I required any additional services. We arrived early and left our luggage next to the reception. When we came back later, they had already moved our luggage into our room. It was a great experience.
