Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IsraelReception closes at 19h00. The path leading from the road to the hotel is not lighted and is in total darkness.
This is our second stay at this hotel. I do love it as it is situated on the outskirts of Sarla surrounded by a lovely garden but not too far from the center (ca.1km) although the return is very hilly. The building is very old and the owners preserved it while adding modern amenities. The rooms and the bathroom are large and spacious. Pets are welcome.

United KingdomNothing we loved it.
The property is set in a quite location above the old town of Sarlat. The room was comfortable but please note it is in a 14c converted farm building. If you are looking for immaculate accommodation and manicured grounds this isn’t for you. We loved it and the owner was delightful. The swimming pool was lovely.

GermanyCar navigations (Google, Here, Waze) had difficulties to find the right road but after all, by following the street signs, it was easy to find. (Anyway, you should not rely only on the navigation systems).
The hotel location is quite good, ~10 mins walk from the old town of Sarlat. Easy walk to the town, coming back after the dinner requires a little more effort. Room was spacious, comfortable, quiet and very clean. Breakfast was OK. We were very satisfied with the accommodation.

GermanySarlat can be reached in 15 minutes on foot. Despite the proximity to the city, it is located uphill in the greenery and very quiet. The property is beautiful, also the outdoor area with old trees and swimming pool is beautifully planted, very well maintained and with many different seating areas. Some also in the pleasant shade, so you can enjoy a delicious coffee there even in the heat. You can see a lot of attention to detail. The hostess is very friendly. We felt very comfortable and will be happy to come back.

United States of Americawe are a couple in our 60s and had booked two rooms having read about how small they were; bizarrely, the “triple” (room 14) was smaller than the other and really uncomfortable — not a single window in the place (actually one fixed window but nothing that could be opened for ventilation except a skylight we couldn’t use because it was raining). also very very poor WiFi in the better room but absolutely none in room 14. (the other room — I think it was 3 or 4 — was actually nice, lots of windows for light and ventilation). I ADVISE AVOIDING ROOM 14 AT ALL COSTS. also don’t kid yourself about walking into town: it appears doable from the map but the roads are steep and hazardous and you’ve really got to drive or else take your life into your hands.
quiet secluded but not far from the action

BelgiumWhile the room was big and light, it was however dated. The flooring was carpet and the room had to be reached via a narrow staircase with very low ceilings. The garden views however did make up for this.
The property has an excellent location and is situated within walking distance of the city center. The room we stayed in was big and light, while the domain itself housed a multitude of cute spots to sit or relax. Additionally, there was a guarded pool (which was however time-restricted). We were served an awesome local breakfast, that kept us full until late afternoon. The hosts were the nicest people and go out of their way to respond to every request. Very pet friendly!
