Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The room was very small.
The location was very good, close to the train station, to the petite france, bars and restaurants. The staff were very generous and the place itself was very nice. It has a top roof and a wine bar.

Quite expensive for what you get, the rooms looked nothing like in the pictures and a bit noisy.
Good central location in Strasbourg, clean rooms and comfortable beds.

We (2 adults, 1 baby) had an amazing stay. Everything was perfect and i can fully recommend this hotel. The staff is extremely helpful, rooms are very nice, everything was there for the baby, breakfast had everything we needed.

The very small sink in the ensuite WC.
The hotel is a short walk from the train station with a good central location. The Junior Suite gave us plenty of room to spread out. (A bonus in France which typically has small rooms.) Room 107 boasts a large round table and banquette which was perfect for eating in-room snacks. Though we did not use it, there is a whirlpool tub in the bath. There is also a small balcony big enough for two to sit on. The small patio bar off the first floor has a good selection of local Alsatian wines. David at the front desk, was excellent for his attentiveness and easy going personality and for providing excellent restaurant recommendations, Try Cher Ami or La Fignette.

1. no vegetables at breakfast 2. no true information about parking. Public parking is very inconvenient, difficult to get a free parking slot, narrow parking places, very narrow and complicated exit from it, with high probability to scratch a car. Info about parking garage was sent to us by a hotel two days after departure, so, there were no chance to check parking conditions in advance

No lift to the rooms on the other side.
We had a good time there. Great location in city centre. Clean room. Very friendly staff. All the receptionists we met were nice and professional. They helped a lot and always found solutions. Excellent quality of service. Easy and efficient communication before and during our stay.

The hotel is located in the centre of the city without being noisy nor crowded. It was very close to 'Petite France', 'Cathédrale' and 'Place Kléber', among others. The history of the building makes it very atmospheric and together with the interiors it is at the same time modern and charming. The room was very bright, clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very spacious and had all the amenities. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel but I enjoyed the wine bar. It had very nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and kind. David at the reception was very polite, warm and helpful.

Beutiful place, warm welcoming at the reception, warm and nice room, super service and located very good. Nothing to complain. It has charming interior..indochine style and it is very clean. Coffee and tea self service station at the room which is very pleasant
