How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The main problem was that there was not enough storage space for two people, not even a coat hanger although there would have been plenty of space to fix a few quite simply to the wall.
It was great to have a little balcony with a great view from the top floor, quite removed from the noise of the traffic. The parking is also a big plus if you come by car. We also enjoyed the Spa and indoor swimming pool, and especially the bubbles and jets. Friendly and helpful staff and the restaurant is cosy with local ingredients.

The only reason I didn’t score as a 10 was the scaffolding work going on at the time, they did apologise in advance and this wasn’t a problem as such but I did think the banging and drilling could have started at 9am and not 8am, a bit early when on holiday
Location is great, parking is excellent, they accommodated our dog brilliantly, we didn’t use the spa but it looked fab

The hotel's 4 stars are hard to find. The hotel needs a deep refurb. The room's general decor and facilities are very poor and are in dire need of an update.
Amazing location. Beautiful and great spa. The family room is a very decent size.

The room was certainly under the standards you'd expect for a 4 stars hotel at such a fare (poor quality instant coffee, no electricity plugs next to the bed, etc...)

I wish the TV would connect to googlecast or airplay. The scent of the hand soap and other toiletries is awful. But honestly if that’s the worst? Ca va marche
Fantastic location and comfortable accommodation. Rooms were well appointed and I loved the bathtub. The spa downstairs was lovely. We went mid afternoon on a weekday in the off-season and had it almost to ourselves.

Our room was very small for a 4 star hotel, the bathroom had no ventilation and smelled very unpleasant. There was very little sound proofing from the corridors and the wooden flooring everwhere made the noise even worse.
Good quality bed linen and very good breakfast. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful when we had problems getting to the hotel from the train station.

It would be nice to have the driving instructions for the parking before arrival.

Lovely spa. A gym room would have been good. And towel rails to dry towels and beach things. Some of the breakfast hot food wasn’t v good. Very good fruit and sweet options. V expensive comparing to some of the other local hotels. V enjoyable stay though, thank you. Great staff and so clean!

Some elements of the decor a bit dated and could be refreshed, or renovated, nevertheless everything was clean and in the working order.
Excellent location next to the beach, and short walk to the town centre. The food in the restaurant was top class, and the staff was always professional and friendly. Leisure centre was a little gem!
