Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe had a room with 3 beds. The room was tiny, with limited space for three beds. We had two suitcases and had difficulty finding a place to put them. The hotel does not have an elevator; we did not have any problem with that, but it can be helpful to keep in mind if you will stay in a room on the upper floors.
It is very convenient, close to Hyde Park, the underground, stores, and restaurants. The breakfast was good; it was a traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon, beans, toast, and tomatoes. The room was clean and warm, and the beds were comfy. The personnel was polite and helpful.

United StatesWhile there were many positive aspects of our stay, we did encounter a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, the room size felt cramped, especially when accommodating a baby cot. This led to some challenges in moving around within the room. Perhaps without the need for the cot, the room would feel less constrained and more enjoyable, perfect for a party of two. Additionally, we observed that the security of our room door appeared inadequate. We had to exert considerable force on the door to ensure it was properly shut, as the lock seemed outdated, raising concerns about the safety of our belongings. Overall, our stay was pleasant, but improvements to door security would have certainly elevated our experience.
Our stay was a delight overall. The breakfast provided was truly wonderful, and the staff were exceptionally family-friendly and kind throughout our stay. The hotel's proximity to various attractions made it a convenient choice, with easy access via bus or train. I would also say this was a very clean hotel which is something anyone traveling truly values.

Swedenthe room was tiny, last floor with no elevator and a very inclined staircase. in the middle of the staircase there was some renovation going on so it was even more dangerous with a stair in the way and even less space to go through. breakfast didn't have any sort of fruits as it was told it'd have. here it says breakfast is from 7:30 till 10 but it's incorrect or at least every day was from 7:30 till 9:30. which was confusing for me since in my room there was a guest book saying that on sundays breakfast was from 8:30 till 10:30. got there to eat breakfast somewhere around 9:20 (on a sunday, my last day) and got super rushed by the staff to eat since the breakfast was already over. told the reception about it once i was checking out and got told that "you were told while checking in that it was from 7:30 till 9:30". for the price expected way more honestly. I do understand completely that london is an expensive region overall but this is just not worth it.
the location is great. there is a huge station nearby with trains heading to Heathrow airport and everywhere in london basically.

AustraliaThe size of the room was so small… and the bathroom is beyond tiny. So for myself, my husband and two little kids, we only had a double bed and one single.. apparently because my 4 year old was free of charge, we didn’t get a bed? Not how it normally works… so my son slept on the floor. There is also no lift, and 5 flights of very steep skinny staircases which are very sweet, but not great for large suitcases. So if you’re on the top floor, be prepared.
Property location is great. Such a cute street. So close to train station too and a bunch of restaurants and cafes. The breakfast lady was very sweet and loved her job. The breakfast was a classic English breakfast and a great start to the day.

United KingdomThe room was tiny and dirty. On top floor, so 5 flight of stairs. can't describe how narrow they are. Didn't go for breakfast for 2 days as we couldn't face going up and down the stairs. It needs a full overhaul and refurbishment. Complete breakfast is 1 sausage. 1 egg. 1 rasher of bacon. 1 plum tomatoe and a spoonful of beans. We stayed out most of the day as we simply couldn't face staying in such a small room. Was too small for a couple. We was a family of 3. Really was the downfall of our holiday Score of 6 is for the staff only. Hotel is zero

United StatesWe booked in the Admiral Hotel, but ended up in the Kingsley. They are both owned and maintained by the same people, but there was nothing in the listing saying that your room could be in either hotel. The staff explained it and made sure that the room we ended up with was of the quality expected, so we were happy.
The breakfast was excellent, offering everything from cereal to a full English breakfast. Kevin was very helpful and solved a complaint we had with the room. The end result was quite satisfactory. Location-wise, the hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from Paddington Station, which allows you to quickly get to anywhere in London.
