Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly negatives were signal on tv was poor and shower door was a little stiff. We could also hear our neighbours in the next room but they were quiet through the night.
Great location with just a few minutes walk to shops, eating places and the Eventim Apollo. Room was clean and had everything you needed for a comfortable nights stay. Staff were very helpful.

United KingdomNo real negatives. If I was to absolutely nitpick, I'd say: I thought the curtains in the room dated it (though they were clean and did their job). As previously mentioned, there was a little grime on the bathroom tap and a small amount of rubbish in the bathroom bin, however, they weren't expecting that room to be in use that night, as explained in my above ramblings. We opened the window for fresh air but there was building work going on across the street long into the night (it was still ongoing at 2am). Not a lot the hotel can do about that and we remedied it by shutting the window and using the fan instead. All in all, extremely minor issues compared to the abundance of positives about our stay.
We booked our stay at the Adria after a gig that was supposed to be an anniversary present ended up being rescheduled at short notice to a new venue and new date. The Adria had great reviews, was reasonably priced and is walking distance to the Eventim Apollo, so we snapped it up, and honestly, thank God we did. We arrived a little worse for wear, having taken longer than usual on the drive down from Newcastle, where we discovered to our dismay that the car parking space we had booked and paid for (nothing to do with this hotel) was unavailable. One small meltdown later we had to make our way across town to the next available space, and back to the hotel, by now the time is getting on and we're stressing about getting ready and to the gig on time. We got an Uber from the second car parking space to the Adria hotel, which has a lovely wrought iron gate outside leading you into a private courtyard and a set of marble steps up to a grand old front door. I found the door locked, rang the door bell and waited for a few minutes. Nobody came and I was starting to become frustrated; I got the phone number from my booking and called. A gentleman answered and informed me I'd pressed the wrong bell, but he would be with me in a moment. Sure enough, he came to the door a few seconds later and greeted us. Frazzled and losing the will to live, we entered and made our way to the nearby reception desk. I gave the gentleman my name and after a brief silence he asked me to spell it, which I did, at which point he informed me he couldn't find my booking. I was struggling to keep it together at this point, but managed to find the details on my phone and show the gentleman. He gently informed me that my booking was for 20th May, not 20th March. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, or faint, if I'm honest. I felt the life force drain out of me.

United KingdomCheck in was a bit long winded, spent about 5 minutes listening to rules, waiting for a print out and activation of the key card etc. -used to just "hello, here is your key" - but not a big deal. Definitely need a new door in the bathroom - was a struggle to close it from the inside of the bathroom - a little awkward when you travel with a friend and need a toilet.
Superb location -5 minutes walk from Hammersmith and Eventim Apollo Clean room/tea and coffee provided Hot shower

United KingdomPleasantly surprised and exceeded expectations. Stayed for one night as I was watching a performance at The Apollo. Receptionist was extremely informative. The stairwell and the room itself was extremely clean. Small room but comfortable, practical and has everything you need. Ideal if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower. Wi fi was good. Soap and shampoo was provided. Also had tea/coffee facilities. Reception also has toothbrushes upon request. Room had a mini fridge. The Apollo is a five minute walk. Breakfast wasn't provided but it wasn't an issue as there are plenty of shops, pubs and cafes/restaurants nearby. Hammersmith tube station is also nearby. A lot cheaper than other hotels in the area. Will stay again.
