Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOverall disappointing. The family room was £340/night plus Breakfast at an extra £18 per person/day put us off using the hotel for breakfast so we never used it for evening meal either. The hotel itself is dated and needs a little love. It looks neglected from the outside, Crumbling paint and broken tiles on the terrace. The pool is clean and facilities clean but the water is cold. Peak season and the hotel felt empty. Shame as it looked promising.
Clean rooms, serviced daily, room had a terraced area outside, location on a lovely quiet beach. Family room had plenty space for 4. Lots of free parking outside the hotel.

United KingdomVery expensive for what it is and the rate didn't even include breakfast. No air conditioning. The pool was cold and the jacuzzi even colder! Hotel is in desperate need of some refurbishment. I expect it was lovely in the 1970s but hasn't been touched since.
Great location and large family room. Really nice indoor pool although a little cold.

United KingdomScaffolding in place not told until arrival, loud music from 8.00am. No change of bedding or towels
Paid in full for 4 days, the day before arrival informed scaffolding in place outside. Was told to view and they would downgrade if not happy however had wanted that room. Workmen started with loud music at 8.00am, no compensation or apologies given. If you are wanting a Fawlty Towers experience this would be ideal for you.

United KingdomThe big selling point for this hotel for us was the view of the bay from the room, and the balcony. while some of the rooms had separate balcony, our balcony was basically a penned off area of part of the roof, over the bar of the hotel, shared with five other rooms. With not much work the area could be very nice, but at the moment, there is not much privacy and the rails could do with a coat of paint. Also some net curtain or blinds for the patio door’s would be good. The room it’s self was very nice.
Nice room, with a good view over the bay.

United KingdomView of the bedroom was of the bins and carpark. Although the bathroom was quite large, the shower cubicle was very small. There was certainly enough space for a larger cubicle.
The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable and sheets clean. The bathroom was also spacious and towels provided were clean. We chose not to eat there but went exploring the southern part of the island instead as there was not much choice on the hotel menu.

United KingdomStaff not overly welcoming/helpful when we arrived (requested photo ID not accepted - passport or driving licence only!) Vehicles parked (illegally) immediately outside our room most of the day ruined our view of the sea. Inflexible breakfast/dinner arrangements meant we were in effect self-catering: no opportunity to have either breakfast or an evening meal unless we signed up to their "all-or-nothing" deal which didn't suit as we needed some flexibility.
Very convenient ground floor location. Easy access to the swimming pool and the beach.

United KingdomTable for dinner and breakfast in a very average location even though we emailed in advance of our 35th wedding anniversary (only stayed 1 night). Made to feel that because we were only there for 1 night, we didn’t matter. It was a special night for us but staff unwilling to change our table, despite an empty overflow area. Outdoor seating area very poor - only one picnic bench which is a shame given the fantastic location - outdoor area generally run down. Bedroom had 2 broken bulbs in lamps, used toilet roll, one small soap between 2 and a dirty kettle. £200 for 1 night dinner, bed and breakfast - definitely not good value for money - overall very disappointing. We’ve been travelling for 35 years together and have never left a negative review.

United KingdomWhilst I appreciate that covid will cause issues I cannot understand why our room was not cleaned during our stay - I was told if I only wanted towels to let them know I didnt so expected our room to be cleaned and the bed made. I even had to ask for clean towels. They washed the cups so why not the bath!! and why not make the bed. Pool was out of action for some of our stay. This is a very strange Hotel - no atmosphere bar empty even though it is on the bay front. It seemed the place was being run by 2 woman and thats it during 3 days thats all we saw. Although it was clean there was a horrible smell in the room and I had to buy air freshner to get rid of it. Someone else was complaining at the desk and they said it must be the tide coming in!!!! Hotel is stuck in the 80's furniture very dated everything about the Hotel was dated. Definately felt ripped off over £600 for accommodation only. Not worth it.

United KingdomI’d preferred a first floor room, clean windows would of helped, a more generously stocked bar and thr option to eat beak fast or dinner!
The hotel is highly priced for the quality, but I presume this is due to covid. Though for the price of £175 per night I would of hoped not to have a room on the ground floor by reception and car park, due to the noise though I did have a sea view! There was no breakfast included and though the staff were very friendly to open the bar it was poorly stocked. Though saying all of the above the hotel is located on a beautiful beach in a quiet location where you can have a wonderful walk to the needles.
