This was my second stay at Ammonite Lodge and it didn't disappoint. Beautifully clean and comfortable. Cosy room with a view of the garden. Katherine and James provided a beautifully cooked breakfast. I will definitely return if I am heading that way again.

What is there not to like?

Piping hot yummy breakfast, great start to the day! The rooms and interior of hotel was lovingly designed, a lot of thought was put into the place, Easy to park out front of hotel and was pleasantly surprised that although our room faced the main road it was not at all noisy as we slept like logs.

They always remembered our names; everything was thoughtfully presented, not too much, not too little. Breakfast was lovingly prepared exactly as ordered; James came back just at the right time to check if everything was satisfactory. It most certainly was most satisfactory. Thank you.

If anything the ordering of the breakfast the day/night before i wasn’t a fan of, as you don’t always know what you’ll be wanting at that stage. But the breakfast was beautiful.

Bathroom was separate from the room but not shared and sloping ceiling was a watch out but not an issue.

Good sized room, parking available outside. Comfy night sleep and didn’t notice much road noise despite being near the road.

Nothing could have made this experience better. When we visited, it was a little cold in the room in the night for me (as i struggle to regulate my body temperature), however, they kindly provided myself and my partner with a plug in heater!

The breakfasts were absolutely amazing, presented incredibly well, tasty and filling and met both of our dietary requirements. The two owners were extraordinarily friendly and went out of their way to be welcoming and assist us with everything we needed. They also had a large selection of leaflets showing the local attractions, as well as giving us their recommendations on the best places to eat in the local area. It was also very quiet in the night with very comfortable bedding, making for a great sleep. A really fantastic stay. So much so that we've booked to return again in just over a month.

Not much really. water wasn’t hot in the evening but as we were late booking in that wasn’t too surprising. Shower was only just warm/hot in the morning but others may have used before we got to it.

Good quality ingredients in the breakfast. Real milk available for hot drinks in the room. Friendly helpful staff. Very clean. Comfortable bed.

Minor criticism traffic outside could be heard . However , didn’t impact me too much

There is nothing that we did not like..

We were staying in order to attend our friends 60th birthday celebrations in Chard. Staying here fulfilled our requirements completely. We were made so welcome by the owners. We loved the attic room The breakfast was great too and we were not rushed at all, totally looked after. We would definitely stay again and totally recommend.

Nothing, it was perfect.

My mum and I had a fantastic night here, James and Catherine were very welcoming. Our room was cosy and spotless with lovely comfy beds. Breakfast was delicious especially the homemade granola... Highly recommended! I loved the breakfast room, so quirky and cosy. We were even treated to a fireworks display just off the High Street. Will definitely stay here again if I am in the area. I had read all of the reviews before booking and found them to be accurate. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay.
