There wasn't anything we didn't like.

The location was superb! The food was unreal. The staff we encountered on the bar and in the restaurant were friendly and hospitable. On arrival, we were asked by our check-in member of staff, David, if we were there for a special occasion and on explaining our reasoning for being in Edinburgh and staying at Apex, he kindly surprised us with celebratory prosecco, that meant a lot and we will never forget his lovely gesture.

We loved the pool, which was generally very quiet. Staff at the front desk and bar were also very helpful and accommodating.

The room temperature was not consistent - cold air during the day and some heat overnight. I had to bother the staff several times to try to make an adjustment on the main control panel. At least there was warmth at night. It was overall tolerable.

It was a great location. The room had a lot of functional space. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant served delicious meals. The breakfast portions were large and were so delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

There was no concierge and stairs and I have a painful/bad arm so lifting my case up to the lift was difficult with no help or ramp. Our room had a weird buzzing/vibrating noise all through the night which was loud coming out the wall/vent and the toilet smelt of eggs.

Location is fabulous!!! Wow, it’s so central and close to everything in the city. We were able to get everywhere from the hotel, loads of shops, restaurants and bars nearby and the view from the room was incredible.

Decor slightly outdated.

Great location, 5 minutes from the centre, but far enough away for it to feel somewhat quiet. The most exceptional staff! Nothing was too much trouble and they were so attentive, checking on you always. There was always a member of staff on hand if you needed them, that is very rare these days, and so polite!

Room 207 had tiny windows high up in the wall making it feel cell like and was next to a housekeeping room which meant there was some noise. Pool is nice but small

Everything about the property was good.

The hotel was in a good location and near to all main attractions. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. All staff worked hard to make sure that our every need was met.

Room was underground, or at least in some kind of light well? Made it very dark during the day and a bit grim. Staff were lovely but it was chaotic trying to get bags out of storage before train home.

Bed was comfortable but took up about 80% of the room, although appreciated having access to a desk and a kettle. Hotel was very nice, good location.

Nothing I didn’t like. We were on the 10th floor so I had expected a lovely view but our room was backed onto another building. It was only a bed for the night though so it didn’t really matter.

Lovely hotel. Room was very spacious and bed was huge!! Ideal location for shopping on Princes Street, The Playhouse and Waverley Station. Staff on reception were helpful and friendly.

Very small gripes but Could have done with more coffee sachets as there was only 1 and 2 decaf. Other than that.

Location was perfect. Very lovely welcome and service, from Katrina (I think), she also gave us 2 complimentary drinks as it was hubbies 60th Birthday, lovely gesture.
