Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was a very loud and very aggressive drunk couple in room next door. I complained and was moved to another room but as a single disabled woman I was very scared as the guy was aggressive in hotel corridor with me. The staff were great but nothing they could do.

Always the same problem,the restaurant is a mess.Cant get drinks,closed in day,was closed at night.We ate once there,the night we got there,then it was closed.
The hotel comfort,room was nice,well cleaned by lovely staff.Breakfast was lovely, breakfast staff lovely.

Bathroom air vent was running for ages when we went to bed so I had to take the card out the socket and get into bed in the dark- same in the morning! Didn’t manage to alter the heating controls. Surprised that there was no safety device on the window to prevent children from falling out.
Full English was excellent! Staff were very efficient and polite. Room was larger than some that we’ve been in. Case stand was appreciated. It was quiet overnight so we slept ok. Nice to have a central room light and a proper desk.

Met family for a 2 night stay. Rooms were good for our needs. All staff friendly and helpful, preferred the self service cooked breakfast on the Saturday morning as opposed to ordering on the Friday. Evening meals were good value and everything we asked for was no problem. Nice quiet location backing onto the canal. Would defo recommend.

The taps in the bathroom were very loud, and the shower tray filled up to the top within minutes as I guess the plug was a little blocked.
The size of the room was excellent for a family. And the quality of the breakfast ingredients was very good!

There were works being done outside- obviously that’s not the hotels fault but the room got so warm so when we opened the window it was super loud.
We stayed in the rockingham suite. It was beautiful and spacious the bathroom was stunning. The best shower I’ve ever been in jets coming from every angle. Bed was huge and comfortable and the staff were welcoming and lovely! Tea and coffee provided, iron in the wardrobe and a safe for valuables. There was also toiletries which is amazing if you forget to bring some. Little extra bits that you wouldn’t expect for example tv in the bathroom a docking station for iPhone, flute glasses. If I was going back to that area I would definitely stay again, even the lobby was beautiful.

We could hear people in reception and a crying baby next door. If possible would have been better on a higher floor at a quiet end of that floor.
