Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Service at breakfast very poor on Sunday, tea & coffee requested, after 10 minutes I went to the bar & asked for the drinks again. We had ordered a full English & a bacon sandwich. The full English came with a fried egg sandwich, when I said "I didn't order this", I was told "It's your bacon sandwich", so I lifted the bread to show the fried eggs. He then agreed it was wrong & my correct sandwich came some time later. Our breakfast cost was cancelled.
This is our 4th & worst visit.

Lift did not work properly. Seemed very unsafe , Not at all up to date or even up to health and safety standards , not advisable to book this hotel if have problems getting up and down stairs . No hot water for 2 days in a row.

Surprised to have to pay extra for cooked breakfast as this was sold as included. Limited choice and quantity of the 'free' continental breakfast. A little slow to deliver breakfast order on checkout day causing us to rush. Fridge in room is a good idea, however it was really noisy.
Evening meal was very good and reasonably priced. Our room (7) was excellent , even had a balcony with a sea view. Cleaned and replenished daily. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Reserved parking space is a bonus.

Difficult to request breakfast in the room, as owners suggested this to be something they weren't used to, asked if we couldn't physically make it down for breakfast!
Room was huge with a great view. Breakfast was lovely.

Mattress was uncomfortable, could feel the springs. Full breakfast should be included in the price. Continental is included but there was nothing left except for cereal when we got there an hour before service finished.

The check in process was a like haphazard. We Arrived via a side entrance straight into the bar/restaurant and despite obviously being guests we weren’t directed to the lobby. When we finally went in search of checkin we found the front desk to be unattended (in actual fact it wasn’t a desk more a podium in a hallway) so we wandered back to the bar and ask them.
Lovely location on the marina, albeit not very well sign posted. Within easy walking distance to the town centre and passengers ferry to Southampton.

The kitchen closes at 5pm on a Sunday, but the website allows you to book until 6pm. As we were staying at the hotel, this was pointed out to us in time.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They listened to our comments and answered our questions quickly. The location was excellent. The food was great. We'll definitely be back.

On first visit the TV remote did not work and could not be replaced. On second visit the room was a bit chilly but at least there was a fan heater! I had limited time for breakfast. I wanted continental, but there were no croissants until I was about to leave. I had a poached egg on toast and got charged for a cooked breakfast.
