How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No clothes draws in the room which made it look untidy. Repetitive Muzak playing in the bar Not necessary.

Nothing - we had a small problem with the water but this was rectified within the hour.
Wonderful location with beautiful sea views - would be worth paying extra for a sea view room, the bar and restaurant look out to the sea - so calming. Our room was generous size and very clean, with shampoos etc provided. Breakfast had lots of choice hot and cold and was available till 10.30 - so you didnt have to get up too early. Really enjoyed our stay.

Hotel tired looking, inside and out. Stayed in the cottage which was also a little tired. TV did not work.

Firstly not happy how far my room was from Reception!! Disappointed with the view from my windows..looked out onto rooves and buildings.. Breakfast was almost cold when it arrived by Room Service. Poor flow from the shower and it was so difficult to get a decent hot temperature for the water. It kept going hot then cold!! So annoying.

Sea view cottage being on the end had a very limited sea view.

Pillows and mattress. The room I booked was deluxe there should be biscuits to go with coffee for the price of that room. The breakfast was disgusting. I was looking forwards to breakfast on the first morning. What a huge disappointment. I will post a detailed review on Google and trip-advisor.
The room is very comfortable however the bed and pillow way too soft for my comfort. Struggle to get comfortable especially with the pillows. Pillows gave me a headache as my head was not securely rested. Kept sinking into the pillows such a shame. Room space Excelkent lovely view of the see. Mini fridge absolutely great room shame about the soft pillows and mattress. Parking nice and easy.

Hotel showing its age, creaking floors. Needs better signage to locate rooms. Could benefit from secondary glazing in the cottages.

I was not informed that a parking space might not be available if the hotel is fully booked. On the final night of my stay, I returned to the hotel exhausted, only to find no available parking spots. I was subsequently informed that if no parking space was available, I could utilize a public parking area. However, this crucial information should have been provided to me during check-in, especially when payment for parking was processed. Consequently, I parked in an improper location and received a £60 parking ticket essentially due to lack of prior notification about the parking space availability.

For the best part of £180 per night I think two milks and two tea bags in the room is really stingy. Breakfast was very average £18 cold and nothing exceptional. Appeared very short staffed and chaotic with people hanging about for food to be topped up. I suspect you have a bit of trouble with the drug users hanging about in the shelter outside the hotel. They created quite a bit of nice over night.
Clean, comfy bed. Lovely sea view room. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Evening meal was excellent.
