Location - close enough to both the hub of the village for shops, bars and restaurants and the many walks on your doorstep. An easy walk to the lake is 15/20mins depending on pace. Room - the room I had was large, clean and tastefully decorated with a huge bed. Hosts - Mandy & Adie are incredibly welcoming and are great for local info or guidance on your plans. The cooked breakfast is awesome and sets you up for the day!

The location is excellent right in the centre of the village. Easy to walk to all the shops, pubs and restaurants. Adie and Mandy were the most welcoming hosts, so friendly and attentive and knowledgeable about the local area. There is no parking at the property, but Adie gave us a permit so that we could park nearby. The room was spotless, and the breakfasts were fabulous. It was our first stay at Brantfell House, and we'll definitely be back.

It was our first stay here, and will definitely be coming back. Walking distance to everything we wanted in Ambleside, the accommodation was lovely and the breakfast was even better!!!! perfect hosts!

Slightly difficult to find parking nearby on a weekend but Adrian helped us immediately when we called to ask where we could park, and gave us a permit.

Great central location. Adrian and Mandy were wonderful, friendly hosts who were welcoming without being overbearing. Breakfast was excellent and variety of options really good! Our room was a fantastic size and really comfortable.

Highly recommend. Adie and Mandy are awesome hosts. Rooms, beds, bathrooms were beautifully decorated, clean, tidy and comfortable. The location was superb. Right in the middle of Ambleside and a short walk to the many restaurants and pubs in town. Breakfasts were phenomenal, amazing choice. Will definitely be back!

From the moment we arrived Aidy and Mandy couldn’t be more helpful. They went out of their way to get us parked. The property is very clean, warm and welcoming, with everything you’d need for a short stay. The breakfast was excellent with a varied selection available and as much toast and beverages as you could manage!

Adie and Mandy were amazing hosts, down to earth and very accommodating, the room and interior throughout was clean and cosy with little thoughtful touches. The location of Brantfell House was perfect, situated in the heart of Ambleside. Breakfast was lovely and filling, we are already planning our next trip to Brantfell House. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. The hosts were friendly warm and gracious. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well equipped. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. There were 8 travelling in our party but that was no problem at breakfast time. There was a great choice, and the food was plentiful, cooked fresh while you were seated. Great location for those who like to walk and equally those who can't walk far. We had a fabulous stay and will definitely be returning.

The breakfast was amazing, you get to fill a little form with your choices and they cook it into perfection on the next day. The owners were friendly and very kind. We felt welcomed and very comfortable. The house is in one of the main roads of Ambleside and it's right between Windermere and Grasmere. So if you want to visit these places it's very well localised and you can get there on a £2 bus.
