Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomShower in morning was tepid with not enough time to follow this up. Much of hotel upkeep looks tired. Our room was along very long corridor and whole feel once past impressive front external facade was down market rather than matching the price we paid.
We were there for a party at the hotel so location was perfect.

United KingdomIt wasn't clear on your welcome letter how much the room internet cost. Bathroom needs updating and bed was hard.
The location was great 5 minute walk into the village where there was good pubs and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and professional the room was clean as was the bar area.

United KingdomThere was a couple of rude staff. Particularly the older lady on reception. She was very unhelpful and, when asked simple questions answered with sarcasm, which we felt was incredibly unprofessional and immediately set the tone for the stay.
The rooms were comfortable and clean. The facilities were also clean. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options.

United KingdomThe paid WiFi was awful. I don't mind if I have to pay £7 and the WiFi is good and works consistently, but it was only ever on one bar or would cut out completely. When you're traveling for work and on meetings, it's a real let down. The free WiFi in the restaurant/bars etc was no better and just as bad that I had to just give up in the end. The paid WiFi in your room is per device as well which is pretty outdated, and equally doesn't work. If you're travelling not for work and want to switch everything off, then this is the place. But the service shouldn't be offered at all if you can't meet it. I was also told that the main bar would be the best place to work, but then there was no where to get a drink as everything was closed, and was told I would have to walk back to the spa area to get any food or drink (this was between 11 and 1pm when I wasn't the only person who was looking to grab just a coffee or soft drink!). In the end I gave up working and left at 1pm. The mattress springs in the bedroom were clunky and popped through the night so probably needs replacing, and the doors are very thin - Could hear everytime some passed the room and as the bed is right near the door, it would wake you up.
The grounds were lovely and building itself was nice. The spa was also a good size pool and jacuzzi, and my massage was excellent! Staff team were all lovely and helpful. Room had everything you needed.

United Kingdomhousekeeping, or lack thereof. room was not serviced at all, and had to wait for clean towels.
overall I thought the hotel was excellent, and great value for money. where they let themselves down was the lack of housekeeping. I expected my room to have been serviced on my return but it was not, which was disappointing.

United KingdomThe hotel gives the impression of being high-end and it may well be able to put in a really lovely wedding event and may have a different feel at the weekend but, mid week, it was full of tradesmen, high vis jackets, dirty workwear etc - which was fine for me and not a problem in the slightest ... I was there for work .... but, if I had gone there with my wife expecting luxury and exclusivity, that is not the mid-week experience when it just feels very budget hotel
The Hotel is a lovely and very impressive building externally and pretty good internally. I didn't check out the gym, pool or spa

United KingdomThe fact the restaurant closed at 21.00 hours. We were greeted with you need to pay xx on arrival at reception. We normally charge everything to the room and pay our bill on departure. That wasn't an option it was pay as you go.
The location was great for a one night stay. The bar and breakfast serving staff were friendly and helpful. The spa, had we time to use appeared to be very inexpensive. Relaxing atmosphere.

United KingdomStayed for 2 night. 1st night had no hot water. The phone signal in the room was poor so have no choice but to purchase WiFi. I paid for 2 days WiFi. 2nd day couldn’t get on and had to pay a further £7.00. I stay here often but this time, was really disappointing despite informing staff of these issues - nothing got resolved.
Comfort.

United KingdomA bit dated and scruffy in the room, the hotel had a building defect that meant there was no water on site, this is an isolated issue which couldn't be helped, however, the communication from the hotel was very poor, some customers were very annoyed about it, if a bit of communication had gone out perhaps guests would be a bit more understanding. The lack of water meant no tea coffee or any drinks other than drinking water at breakfast. Considering the cost of breakfast this was unreasonable, especially as there is a bar on site (next to breakfast room) so could have offered drinks from there and taken the costing hit to improve guests stay.
It is a very nice building and grounds. The price was cheap which I think reflected the dated rooms and was a fair price. The staff were nice.

United KingdomReceptionists need to remember that they are the first point of contact at the hotel and that first impressions are very important. They must make all visitors feel welcome. I did not like the fact that, because we were staying 2 nights, the bedroom and bathroom would not be cleaned. I think this is unacceptable in view of the fact that this is a 4-star hotel. Also, the steam room was not working. The room was rather compact, the wardrobe needs to be fixed and the bathroom definitely needs renovating or freshening up. The toilet roll holder was broken and there was no mat for the floor. No air conditioning in the room, which made it very dry and uncomfortable at night.
Good breakfast, ample car parking, nice grounds. I also like the fact that it is within walking distance of the village where there are some good restaurants. It was a pleasant walk. The breakfast staff were very pleasant.

United KingdomTV although big and modern, didn't work - we had a cable so were able to watch it via a laptop. Big queue for bar - they may have been short staff. Booking.com allowed us to book a room that wouldn't actually fit two adults and a child but luckily they had a spare family room - need to watch out for that when booking. Paid for internet didn't work either in the room. Our dog was annoying but that wasn't the hotel's fault!
Lovely grounds, Tasty food. (the included meal is a buffet) The acceptance of our dog, large family room, nice swimming pool. The tap water tastes delicious, it's from their own spring! Able to book a late check out.

United KingdomThe reception staff were quite rude and miserable, they couldn't cope with coach of people. The pool was closed until wednesday afternoon then it was ok but we found it a bit dangerous going up and down all these stone stairs in your wet swimsuit, The room its self was far too hot constantly, very dusty, the bathroom needs updating the shower very slow. The check in - well what can l say , we arrived at approximately 1300 and was told quite strictly we couldnt check in until 4pm when of course by this time there was 50 other people trying to check in and the staff were dealing with complaints also throughout, this took ages , that misery on reception could break into a smile now and again and be told she is not working as the Gestapo!!! I felt sorry for the old lady struggling to run the bar single handed, it was at the hotels busiest period when a coach had just arrived.
The grounds were beautiful, some of the meal were nice, others not so good. It was very comfortable. Breakfast yummy. Remi in the evening Jenny's restaurant was really friendly and professional with it, nothing too much for her.
