How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room, the mattress was not good. The bathroom is dark,dust like mould inside. My kids been coughing all night.

first day we could not able to check in we were directed to other hotel. hotel should inform us earlier. hotel should arrange drop and pick from other hotel where they directed us as room was not ready due to some maintenance work

Increased area for breakfasts - maybe utilise the space outside with a canopy and ensure food items did not run out. Make sure lights and sockets in the room were secured and safe. Request for the people working in reception to speak more quietly when taking bookings at night as this disturbed sleep.
The room was basic, but acceptable. The mattress was a little uncomfortable, but we still slept... Breakfast was good if you got there early enough. On our third day, items had run out, but staff did their best. The room was clean and acceptable.

On arrival the guys were asked to leave a 50 pound deposit incase they damaged the room, this isnt an issue but it wasnt underlined during the booking stages therfore could have caused an issue if the guys were unable to pay the deposit

The room and building itself needs a little upgrading. A doorhanger replaced with a screw for instance. The walls need a repaint and the showerhead kept on coming off as well. For this price I'd expect a proper done up room. The temperature in the room wasnt pleasant either. The helpfull staff tried to fix it by providing a fan but with 5 people in the room it helped only a little
The staff was really nice. The location was beautiful as well. Breakfast was really good. The variety of food was splendid as well.

The window on the ceiling is horrendous. I understand fully that might be the design of the rooms but it’s summer and sun rises so early so it was only appropriate that a cover was offered to us as an option coz we all woke up too early and we really needed that rest. So we were all knackered.
The breakfast was quite nice. The location is ideal with the shops around and public transport if needed. It was not as noisy as I expected it to be which is good.

Internet was missing for first 2/5 days.. My kids did not enjoy it and kept complaining and i had to work. Plus how will people will know if there 50 pounds deposit will be given back? We left the room spotless and i have videos and pictures of how we left it, plus we do not smoke...
It was 5 minutes away from the venue I needed to be. The gentlemen that works there were nice and friendly and the people at breakfast too

The corridors aren't clean, it looks like the hoover vacuum has never passed. The kitchen sinks aren't clean neither.
The Breakfast is simple but complete, the rooms size is very good and the location met our expectation. The price is affordable

The bed was uncomfortable. But everything else was very nice.
The staff was amazing and the breakfast is nice. The location is also very well, close to the bus stop and the train station is 10 min. walk.

Breakfast was the same everyday, also in the night there were people partying under the window. And no air conditioning just a little fan.
Nothing special, they cleaned the room everyday and took out the trash, also fresh towels, and friendly staff.

the room smelt damp and the facilities were basic, the tea and coffee provided were half used on arrival. the breakfast provided was overcooked and very limited. it was not noted until after purchasing the room that an additional £50 deposit was to be taken on the day, also they stated it would take 4-5 working days to return the deposit on the website but on-site they told me up to 14 days!
the staff was very friendly.
