Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe pool is now colder than it used to be, BS about the environment does not wash in this context.
The swimming pool is always a welcome way to relax after our drive. It takes about 15 minutes to the airport which is great for early flights. It has a good steakhouse on site.

The staff were lovely and let us use the spa facilities because we checked in as we arrived early. The breakfast was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it. The grounds were beautiful also.

United KingdomThe spa was disappointing. The indoor jacuzzi wasn’t working and the outside one was full each time we attempted to use it. We gave up in the end as people were spending long periods in there at a time.

United KingdomThe layout - having to walk so far to our room and then again to the pool. Having a disabled badge and still having to pay to park. Didn’t think the room was much more special than a Premier Inn which was disappointing. Bedside light needed maintenance.
Staff really helpful, breakfast excellent, handy location, clean and comfortable

IrelandReception didn't give much of a welcome on arrival. Told us nothing about breakfast times or location or where to eat on the evening we arrived. No help with baggage despite our room being up and over several staircases. The hotel is a bit of a maze.
Breakfast was excellent. Very tasty and good quality. Restaurant food was good too but expensive and not very large portions.

United KingdomPaying £7.50 per night for parking in the hotel is a complete rip off. As this hotel is no where near a city, station etc I can’t understand why guests are charged? Not enough seating in the inside pool area. We had to sit outside - fortunately the weather was dry.
Friendly check in staff. Good breakfast. Lovely bed and pillows & bathroom

United KingdomDespite having been told to pre order our evening meal it wasn’t until we arrived to our table we were told that this is no longer the menu . One of our group was not told that he could no longer have his chosen dish and was presented with an alternative Regardless and had no choice of food. Given that the restaurant is a marco power white establishment I would not expect to be sat below a heavily stained yellow ceiling tile either
Good location beautiful views and restaurant within the hotel

United Kingdompaying extra for parking. Did not like the spa pool, there were no sunbeds around it to relax as there was no room and very few seats to rest on. More seating outside which is useless in bad weather. Also the changing rooms did not have separate changing facilities and were actually quite grubby, floor was filthy. So I did change into my bathing costume but did not bother to swim or use the facilities, a big let down for me. Especially as the spa day was a present from my daughter. However, the spa treatment was lovely and so was the lunch.
staff were lovely and helpful. Food was hot and tasty. Room was comfortable, clean and roomy.

United KingdomI have used Doubletree for business in the past this was the first time for pleasure. It was a positive experience, the staff are friendly but professional, the hotel clean. Didn't use the gym, but that's because I didn't have time. Would certainly recommend the hotel for both business and pleasure.

United KingdomTried to charge us extra for our dinner although we’d already paid for it as park of the package deal (got a refund) couldn’t use the hot tub/sauna/steam room or the outdoor jacuzzi as they offer spa days so extremely busy also the pool was open to the public & full of kids.. had an early morning wake up call at 6am due to a super car group revving their engines..
Breakfast was okay they asked us if we wanted tea or coffee but we never received any although the table next to us came in after us & received their tea/coffee.. food was good lots to choose from..

United KingdomParking is expensive £7.50 a night Limited option at breakfast depending on dietary requirements. The corridors are uncomfortably hot, the heating was on full blast. No water refill stations meaning using lots of single use plastic bottles
Friendly staff, good breakfast (although limited for those with dietary requirements). Ample parking. Good size comfy bed. Free spa and swimming pool use. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Decent hotel hairdryer.

United KingdomValue for money, room was way overpriced at £200 for sole occupancy. On top of that i was charged an additional £7.50 to park my car in the hotel car park, another hidden charge! My bed was hard and my room basic, I was given a free room upgrade too.
Location was very good for onward travel to Cornwall, giving me easy access to the M5 south. Food in the restaurant was good but a little expensive. The gym was well equipped although it is a private gym and a 2 minute walk from the property
