Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRoom a bit tired, could do with a refurb. Very little entertainment in the evening for the children. Breakfast very basic, not much choice.
Fantastic swimming pool. Children enjoyed the arcade and softplay. Ideal location, walking distance to the centre of Torquay.

United KingdomVery warm room. Warm hotel overall actually. I was expecting more of a buzz but it was pretty empty and VERY geared up for the over-70s. Strange having so many empty spaces around the hotel but I guess it’s busier in peak season (this was Easter hols). Menus were uninspiring in the restaurants and were expensive for a set menu. Breakfast cost a FORTUNE. I paid for adult and child. Child didn’t want anything as nothing was suitable (yes, she’s very fussy but still!). It wasn’t the best brekky I’ve had - how do you ruin a hash brown?
The pool is amazing. Such a lovely space. And the Aztec Bar has good food etc. The room was clean but VERY warm. No option to open a window. The staff were all friendly. The entertainment was entertaining! Daughter LOVED the animals show! That was really great.

United KingdomThe evening entertainment on our dates was definitely for the older residents. Our room 38 was in need of some electrical tlc in the bathroom but this didn't spoil our stay.
Perfect location within easy reach of all local attractions, the town and seafront. Great for our family get together, we all enjoyed the leisure facilities, sorry we did not have time to visit the games room. The breakfast and service was great, staff very happy to help and informative.

United KingdomOn arrival we were given a room with only stair access despite constant messages that we have a wheelchair user. We were left in that room over night and had to stay in because of having to carry a person in a wheelchair up and down stairs. This was a serious health and safety and fire risk. The Decor and carpets were outdated and floorboards very noisy. The lift to was very small. Also the hotel was sold as a 4 star but is actually a 3 star.

United KingdomBedrooms need an upgrade as well as the bathrooms and also air conditioning needs installing as was very warm at night. More food selection for the kids in the evening meal would be nice.
Large hotel and lovely indoor swimming facilities open until late which was good as was a little quieter. Rooms large enough for family of 4. Half board basis was good, good selection of food in the mornings and evening meals were nice.

United KingdomSo on this occasion our room wasn’t serviced in the day for two days, even though we made a conscious effort to ensure we were out of the room this resulted in needing to go to reception to ask for toilet roll which for the price of this hotel shouldn’t be happening. Whilst at reception the receptionist said ‘come on I’m trying to go home’ when asking for toilet roll which I considered quite rude seen as I see toilet roll and a basic of a hotel room. There was also an occasion where we used the Aztec cafe where I was told there were no tea or coffee available this was at 7pm on a Sunday, as our room also hadn’t been serviced this meant no hot drinks were available to us. Also whilst sat in the cafe with a cold drink on the same occasion staff were hovering around us making us feel as if we needed to leave not the relaxing evening I was looking for.
I’ve stayed at this location multiple times and never had any problems, ran into a few minor ones on this stay. The staff are very friendly and usually always accommodating. The hotel is in a great location and the Aztec spa is always clean. The breakfast is always great.

United Kingdomthe apartment that they gave us i wouldn't have payed what we did if i was getting something like what we did
I booked an apartment and I was very disappointed with what I payed for, there was mould on the bathroom ceiling and the single bed was bowed in like if the springs were broken, so then I asked if we can be moved and they got on it straight away and they moved us into a lovely family room that was better for my son. we had breakfast included so we didn't need to pay extra for. as a result we had a lovely stay for my sons first birthday holiday

United KingdomThe rooms are so outdated and old. Literally everything is very very old. Even the lifts. We booked it because, by looking at the pictures, everything seemed so nice.. big mistake, I should’ve read negative reviews.. it’s a shame because this hotel has big potential. The pools are amazing though, clean and big.
I liked the location and the 1 pools. It was quite clean as well. The staff was very helpful.

United KingdomOne our last day the fire alarm went off very early 7.15am and we went downstairs and there was different ages all milling around the reception area looking bemused. It was a false alarm thank god and by the the time we got back to our room and realised it was close to check out time 11 am. I thought maybe in view of the mornings events we could get an extra hour 12 am. Well the lady on reception had great delight in smiling and stating that i would be charged £10 an hour even if i went 5 mins over, Ive never experienced this in all my tears of travelling and reviewing hotels I felt on this occasion she could have been more sympathetic. Otherwise great stay but be mindful to check out on time.🤔

United KingdomThe parking spaces available on site are very tight for a family size vehicle but manageable. The dinner meals lacked a bit of taste and a bit bland for my taste. I would not book this again. The property was a bit dated. The photos on the booking site are not true to the current site, and it was a bit disappointing.
The staff are very helpful. The rooms are clean regularly and comfortable. The breakfast service is very good. The spa pool very good kids enjoyed it. On-site shop for gifts is very reasonable priced grandkids loved it. Great location to stay for visiting local attractions, and the hotel is a short walk to the seafront.
