The air-conditioning/heating did not work, the restaurant was closed, we had no hot water on the second morning because the staff did not know how to work the heating. Breakfast was not great quality, the hash browns were still ice cold from the freezer and my black pudding was almost raw.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Staff were friendly.

The room looked tired with a crack in the sink, skirting boards in need of repair and all areas looked in need of a good paint and spruce up. Breakfast was ok but I asked for mushrooms and got served 3, these were clearly from a tin. Fair selection of food at breakfast and good value for money.

Good location and easy place to stay just off the motorway, large room with comfy beds. Friendly staff and plenty of parking.

The room was very cold. AC didn't work, and 2 electric heaters were in the room on arrival, one switched on but not working, the other switched off. Staff readily replaced the faulty heater and I made sure that both were turned on. External walls of the room had flaking plaster from damp, 4 lights (including both bedside lights) were not working, bathroom sink was blocked and drained extremely slowly. water was lukewarm for a shower or bath, water pressure for shower was more a dribble than a shower. Went downstairs for a meal - no catering due to maintenance. They couldn't even offer a bag of crisps or peanuts because of delivery problems. Was told there was only 1 pub locally, and a certain chicken fast food outlet. the pub was packed, so opted for the fast food option. big mistake but that is not the purpose of this review. Went back to the room which was still bitterly cold despite both "heaters" having been on for 2-3 hours. went to bed to get warm. In the morning the room was still cold, despite the additional heating having been on for over 12 hours. I didn't stay for breakfast, so can't review that. Would I stay again? if the heating and plumbing is fixed, yes

The staff I saw were very helpful, the room was spotlessly clean. The room was large and well appointed. The bathroom had a shower and a bath. There was a large wall mounted TV with a good choice of channels. The room was really quiet and no disturbance at all during the night

The bathroom was freezing cold. The breakfast was a cold. Dining hall was poorly lit.

The staff were friendly and accommodating to give us a suite so we could sleep with our kids and quickly provided bedding.

Bathroom had no loo paper or toiletries - this seems like a pretty basic thing that should be got right. The double bed only had two thin pillows - thankfully I was staying on my own so could use both. I wasn't sure if the bar was open or not. Nobody seemed to be serving so I assumed not. The heating was broken so a small electric heater was provided, which seemed like a recipe for disaster in terms of fire safety particularly as it had been positioned right up against a curtain.

Shower. Either scolding hot or freezing cold. You have to manipulate the sink taps to trick the shower into being the right temp.

Was nice and warm. The place is very basic and a bit aged as youd expect, but perfectly fine.

Needed more than 1 pillow. Had to ask for more tea/coffee/milk for 2nd night as was not replenished. Had to ask for soap/handwash as was not in bathroom.

Room was a good size. Room was clean & bed comfortable. If you asked for anything you were missing, it was provided.

Buffet Breakfast was a disaster even though I was offered 2 fresh eggs. Everything was overcooked and stale. The bread was awful. Definitely not worth the 10 Pound charge. Staff wore outside clothing, anorak, jeans, etc. not the type of clothing one would expect from Hotel Staff. Except for my room, the overall temperature in the hotel was a little too cool.

The staff at Reception were polite and friendly. My room was clean, bed was clean and comfortable.

Breakfast could have been much better organised. Settled for a cup of instant coffee and a bowl of Coco Pops for 10 quid. Not a huge problem as the company were paying and there is a Starbucks nearby.

In need of refurbishment. 2 people booked into room, but only 1 towel provided. Coffee sachets in room, but no milk or tea bags, so another trip to reception. Short of staff - man on reception seemed to be running bar, reception and trouble shooting! Hot water took 5 minutes or so to come through and then was barely warm so ended up running a bath and boiling kettles so water temperature hot enough for washing. Room was cold, but oil filled radiator provided.

Quite location out of town with parking provided.

Only one pillow. Bathroom fan master switch off. Toilet paper smallest I’ve ever seen. Toilet door hinges need oiling. No hot water on second day.
