Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Breakfast was excellent, as was the hosts and the room was spotless, could not have wished for any better. Would highly recommend a stay here. Booked on line didn’t know what to expect, but certainly did not disappoint, could not have picked better.

We were right at the top and had 3 flights of stairs to carry our luggage but we managed.
As soon as we entered the front door there was a lovely smell in the hallway. Everywhere looked clean and tidy which gave you that comfortable feeling straight away. We were close to the shops and seafront. Lots of different restaurants just around the corner to chose from. Everywhere was flat and accessible. We had a choice of what we wanted for breakfast and it was lovely. Set us up for the day!!

There was nothing we did not like.
Excellent breakfast, professional, friendly service, on arrival was greeted by Pat & Stuart, they were friendly & welcoming. Pat gave us information on our stay, nothing was too much trouble for them. the bed room was very clean . the beds were comfy and the shower was powerful and hot. there was water, tea & coffee and so on, in the bedroom, which always is a bonus. excellent location close to all amenities. If we ever go to wales again we will stay at the chitterns guest house.

Everything was super, Pat and Stuart were lovely, friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Room was perfect. Area is stunning and everything was really within walking distance within the town. Breakfast was the best we've had.

Breakfast was excellent each day. The location was good as it was only about 5 minutes walk from the main attractions and town centre. The guest house was exceptionally clean and well presented. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

The only downside was the bathroom which was fairly small however, I don’t think there is anything that can be done to make it any bigger.
The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was great. The owners were lovely and very welcoming.
