How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had to pay £20 return deposit when we arrived nothing in booking conditions about this that we could see. Room very scuffe bathroom was not of good standard flooring was dangerous condition and could easily leek water shower was cold room was chilli. Beeding and bed very worn out needs improvement Not worth the price put on the room had far better alot cheaper.
It was a bed for our stay and as we only needed the room for sleeping in it meet our needs

Bit run down
Very handy and close to main center , parking is problem and hotel does not have a car park , ok for a one night stay .

The bed was firmer than I'd like and it was slightly hard to find. Parking is also a little difficult but staff were helpful in offering local places to park.
The staff were lovely and very approachable. The hotel was very clean. Warm, has tea/coffee/tea biscuits in room which help keep you going while you get ready. Shower was great.

The rooms could benefit from better blinds and it was very bright by 7am and hard to stay asleep. Bathroom was dusty but just needed a wipe over. Main issue was behaviour of other guests from 8.15 in the morning charging from room to room and allowing their children to shout out of the window, we were on the first floor if we could hear it next door surely someone on reception would have been able to and it should have been dealt with, it sounded like they were coming through the walls.
Very close to seafront, we're allowed to leave our bags before check in which was very helpful. Kettle and brew making facilities were good, nice shower and comfy double bed with small TV was everything we needed for a night's stay, brilliant value for money. Check in and check out was very quick and polite. Close to shop and cash point also.

Only thing I didn't like was the staff told us they would call police on us if we took friends to our rooms while getting ready. We are adults not children. Other than that clean hotel nice stay

The temp on the shower was hard to control and became really hot struggled to get it to stay at reasonable temperature. And toilet was wobbley.
Nice and clean and tidy bed was comfy nice big tv I our room aswell.

no parking, room was way too hot and the room faces a bar which shuts at 3am so we couldn’t sleep but you get what you pay for I’m not complaining for the price still had a good weekend
location was banging and it was really cheap considering it was probably the busiest weekend of the year. a room is a room it done the job. bed was comfy. staff are very accommodating and friendly

No lift, so ask for ground floor if you're not good with stairs, I'm sure they will accommodate you.
Good location, cheap and cheerful, clean and very comfy beds. Staff were very friendly. Would stay again.

not much really. the shower is a bit dark, having a black shower curtain, but apart from that, it’s good.
the location is excellent. staff are so friendly and happy to help. the room is comfortable, clean and tidy.

Was clean but not good value what we paid to stay at the Chilton no breakfast plus we couldn't take food to our room ether while staying there the room could of been more bigger aswell for how much we paid also given us more options like free wifi and more sociable environment.

Other than the fact that there was no prior information that we needed to pay a deposit of £20 I will say we had no issues at this hotel. And the £20 was refunded anyway so that was good. We really enjoyed our stay.
We liked the location of the room. Also the room was described as a small double room, but the actual size of the room could pass for a normal double room. So we were very pleased. The room was clean, organized and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. All in all we enjoyed our stay.
