Could overhear staff talking about food complaints during Breakfast service, though mine was very good, not what a guest wants to hear!

Don't like the new a la carte restaurant. Very expensive and not to our taste of menu. Much preferred the superb affordable Bokhara indian restaurant. It's a shame it's no longer there. Also lots of changes to decor that I feel are taking away the character of this lovely grade 2 listed building

The room was quite dated. There was mould around the windows, and the wallpaper was bubbling. The radiator was tepid, but thankfully, a plug-in oil radiator was supplied. The TV only had terrestrial channels, and streaming was disabled. The updated decor in the communal parts of the hotel also looked out of place with the lovely original features, which was a shame.

Stunning reception and communal areas. You feel like you're staying in a country house on arrival. There's good parking and the grounds have a pond, pet cemetery and lovely views. The restaurant Hiraeth is excellent and would thoroughly recommend it. There is a bar downstairs and a TV room. Also there are a few conference rooms and a banqueting suite for weddings. The bathroom was a room in itself with a huge walk-in shower.

I think everything in there is very Good.

I just stay in there for 3 or 4 hours and then i go check out.. I cant try any services like breakfast and anything.. I hope i have more time in one day..

This is super fuzzy of me! Some decor bit odd- floating cloud like exposed brick work on walls of a 2nd staircase! Not needed- large space drop a tapestry.- instead paying for bricks and sparkly wall paper! Furniture in bar reception areas too modern can get really cheap antique. It’s a grand old building.

Location-spectacular views. Grind great for Labrador walkies. Room great size & decor for me and my crazy 30kg Labrador Daisy. Daisy gives it 10/10

Family rooms are located next to the Bridal/honeymoon suite so we were woken at 8am by kids shouting and slamming doors in the corridor. Also, 2 pints at the bar came to £22 which is ridiculous!!

I think some of the upkeep of decor etc could be better. First impressions count for a lot. Whilt I appreciated the old charm the smaller imperfections could easily be maintained..

Location was tucked away, allowing for peace and quiet. The style was quite unique and quite charming with a bit of quirkiness. The breakfast area was well maintained, and the food was good. It was a shame to hear the restaurant is changing hands , staff and food was great.

Hotel very cold shower in bathroom very low in water pressure also bathroom very grubby and needs refreshing TV remote not working was reported but was not resolved also inadequate non existent heating

We were waiting at least 20 minutes for a staff member to check us in. I do understand there was a wedding going on but we do feel this was a long time to be stood around for. The manor is big and we did not hear the wedding until around 1am when the party came up to bed and were screaming and shouting along the corridors, children running back and forth. This put us off going down for breakfast in the morning despite actually already paying for this on top. As we handed back our key card the wedding guests were spilling out into reception as there were so many. Just avoid going whilst there is a wedding.

Our room was huge and spacious. Bathroom was lovely and spa bath was a bonus. Room was fairly clean although carpets were mucky.

Drinks are very expensive and overpriced, and the room rate cost me £150 just for one night.

We attended a family wedding and stayed overnight. Breakfast was delicious, a fry up to order and a choice of cereals, yoghurt and toast. Location of the hotel is beautiful with stunning scenery.

I forgot to report the show head in room 202 needs changing as it leaks down the flex.

Weather was not the best so unfortunatly we could'nt look round the grounds which ia obviously no fault of the hotel.

Food was of a high standard and plenty of it too. Waitress was very welcoming and gave brilliant service. Other staff also helpful when needed. Room was very spacious and comfortable.
