Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hotel was starting to feel a bit run down. A flashing light in the corridor was left. In the bedroom the shaver socket was broken. There was no literature in the room to explain the hotel and its facilities such as opening times for restaurant and pool, menus
The staff we had any dealings with were polite, engaging and responsive. They made us feel welcome. The breakfast had a great range. There was plenty of parking.

The TV was very poor, there was no smart features on the TV and I couldn't connect my laptop either.
Overall the hotel did the job, breakfast was nice.

Bedroom was very dated, marks on the carpet looked like someone had previously vomited on the floor by the bed! holes in the bedsheets & just generally old decor
Beautiful grounds, staff were really good on the whole. Some very beautiful nice rooms in the "main hotel areas", lovely gym facilities

Bedroom carpet was stained and looked old and in need of a good deep clean. Room very basic. Water in shower lukewarm. It felt like we had been given one of the worst rooms as we had booked at a lower price via booking.com.
Communal areas and leisure facilities are lovely. Great breakfast. Staff all lovely.

The breakfast was ok but not the amazing selection that was promised in other reviews. I was disappointed that there was no fresh bread other than the standard sliced loaves that go in the toaster. This felt sub par in comparison to other De Vere Hotels. The property is a little old fashioned and in need of updating in places.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel setting was lovely. The location was great within easy reach of Holmes Chapel, Jodrell Bank and the motorway!! Lots of places to sit around the hotel and good parking.

Has a very corporate feel and lacks personal character. Rooms are a good size and bed excellent, however soundproofing was not effective and we were kept awake until 1am.
Very clean and spacious hotel in quiet surroundings.

The price of the drinks was excessive. I don't mind paying a premium, but it was virtually double normal prices. £8 for a pint, and other people thought it was expensive because the bar was relatively empty. Shame because the artiste was quite good.

The fire alarm going off just after midnight. Whilst I realise that fire alarms do go off and that's not the hotels or staffs fault, the place is rather a rabbit warren and we were left trying to find our way out, half asleep with no guidance and no staff anywhere to be found. Just when we got outside we were told to go back in. I think this can be improved. The restaurant is nice, but very expensive for what you get. Breakfast is also the same!!
The location is stunning, the surrounding area is lovely with the estate being very attractive. The venue itself looks amazing but is a little spoiled by the newer buildings, but still very nice. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The room was quite large and the bed very comfortable.
