How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Shower was Ok but pressure could have been better. Quite difficult to wash and rinse long thick hair.
Breakfast pack was an added bonus which was very useful Location excellent.

The bedrooms in the penthouse were too hot even with the heating turned off and window open.

Very little. Found the duvet rather warm. Breakfast ok but needed fruit, yogurts etc
The location is excellent. Plenty of space and a useful outdoor balcony.

Double bed was a little too narrow. There was space for a bigger one. I robe and more bathroom shelf space would have been good. A Nespresso machine would elevate the experience.
The general standard of provision was very good. Liked the location and attention to detail in the property. We liked the good quality towels and the breakfast pack.

What's not to like, great location, beautiful walks along the canal.loved the shops and the street food market. The accommodation was easy to fund, amenities great and the best bed I've slept in. Lovely touch with the basket of treats to eat as well. very welcoming. Will return soon x

The double beds in two of the apartments were somewhat small (king size would be better), but that would make the rooms very cramped. Also the decking outside the upper apartments became very slippery when wet.
Location was perfect, breakfast with local products was very good and all communication was very helpful. The 3 apartments hired were smart and well appointed. Parking was good too.

Bed a bit firm, and quilt wasn't quite wide enough on double bed. Shower in the main bathroom wasn't very powerful.
Easy check-in. Fantastic location. Clean and spacious apartment. Nice welcome breakfast hamper, with milk, eggs, orange juice and bread.

The council bin collections on Monday and Tuesday morning were ridiculously early and the bottle collection on Monday was particularly noisy at 6am! Nothing that Croft Mill can do about that I suppose but if you like to sleep beyond 6am on those days good luck. The kitchen equipment was excellent apart from not being able to access and use the microwave easily due to short and hidden power leads of the kettle and toaster which were in the way. The instructions for the heating / thermostat and the dishwasher need to be updated as they weren't relevant to the actual equipment.
The breakfast pack was very good and the facilities / equipment provided are excellent.

The wooden floors were lovely but they creaked a great deal - you could not walk quietly in the night. It's only a problem for light sleepers. We would have liked a small table and chairs rather than the breakfast bar and stools, but I'm sure something could have been arranged had we asked.
The location was great, short walking distance from shops, pubs and transport. The apartment was modern, clean, well laid out and warm for cool spring weather. Great to have a washing machine, dryer and clothes rack, as well as full kitchen facilities.

No view as it is a town centre location, which was perfect for us but may not suit tourists looking for a nice view. Parking is very tight, but in fairness parking is tight all over Hebdon Bridge! Breakfast is a prepacked basket for one night only. I thought we were getting breakfast each day. My fault for not reading the small print! Booking.com could do better by making this clear as it is advertised as bed and free breakfast.
Great location in the centre of town. Spotlessly clean. Great value for money. All amenities are present and in very good condition. Nice bathrooms/shower. Everything is modern and up to date. Breakfast basket was very good.

It’s just our preference, but the mattress was a bit too firm.
Had everything we needed including a welcome basket of breakfast essentials and milk, orange juice and eggs in the fridge. Great location. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Comfy pillows and cosy duvet.

Being asked to write down my credit card number and leave it in the lock box (for any Incedental breakages). These should be sorted out with the booking agent (stored with them until the property inventory was ticked off after departure)
