The rooms were small and they'd been renovated but they still felt cheap. It is a 90's hotel that's been done up. It's definitely ok for an airport stay. I did not like the bus situation from the terminal to hotel. It had to be booked and paid for. I don't think it's that clear, that would put me off staying in future.

They booked shuttle at reception for me but no record of it in the morning. Also didn't receive alarm call as promised. Sorted out in the morning but stressful. Also very expensive drinks and food expensive and mediocre. Ham and cheese toastie was diabolical.

From the train exit it wasn't clear how to get to our hotel. So we walked, as shuttle buses, etc were not signed, so unclear how to access them. Although it was close, walking with all our suitcases, in the evening, in rain, with a child, across roads was not ideal. In our hotel room the TV /media was not working. Edward at reception helped us by moving us to a room where the entertainment system was working. It was good to have the option to change rooms: Though ultimately it was inconvenient, as we were tired, it was late-evening, we needed to catch an early flight the following morning -so just wanted to unwind & get some rest. So would've prefered the entertainment system in our room to have been working when we arrived.  As we were leaving so early we had not opted for breakfast. Though due to the inconvenience of having to move rooms, we were offered breakfast which was a nice gesture -but we only wanted a light one, if it could be delivered to our room, to ensure we could leave for the airport on time. It seemed that this wasn't usually offered, but due to our circumstances, (incl. not having time to go to the breakfast buffet), they agreed to try to do this. We asked for this take-away to be delivered at 6.40am. Unfortunately by 6.55am / 7am it had not shown up. As we then had to leave, we called reception to let them know that these items had not been delivered. (They then arranged for it to be left at Reception for us, but not ideal, to have to carry, along with suitcases, etc.). That morning we wanted to travel to the airport via the hotel's shuttle bus -but we could not take the one waiting at the hotel, (as the driver told us he was going to T2, & we needed T1). This driver then took a long time to return, & on reaching T1, then parked quite far from its entrance.

Edward, a staff member, was very friendly and helpful. He saw us in the corridor and offered to help us with our suitcases after we had checked in and were walking the reasonable distance to our room. We didn't need help then; but later when we called re. the entertainment system not working, Edward was as helpful as he could be towards sorting things out for us, and did what he could to make our stay comfortable. The room was comfortable, especially the one we ended up being moved to, which was on a higher floor, so we felt had slightly more privacy then the ground floor room we were initially allocated. (We weren't given the option of a higher floor room when we checked in, but were instead informed that there weren't any available in the room-class we'd booked in). The entertainment system was good; the beds were comfortable and the room was adequate in general for an overnight stay before a flight. The Hotel was convenient enough to walk to from the train station, and was located conveniently for the airport, (much more so than the Heathrow airport hotels -which generally are not close enough to walk to, and you usually need to catch a shuttle bus to reach your Terminal). The breakfast we tried in the morning was nice, including having decent coffee.

Location a bit tricky but probably more to do with road layout. Not easy to walk to.

All Staff attitude was fantastic. Room well maintained as spacious for families. Breakfast was worth the money (which you can’t say very often).

We had an issue of finding some dirty underwear behind the bathroom door. We reported it, they couldn't be more apologetic and the receptionist got straight onto cleaning to sort it out. We were also given complimentary drinks as an apology.

The room was not clean unfortunately ie food stuff and food debris left on the side and in the refrigerator. The Wi-Fi didnt work for the whole duration of the stay which proved an inconvenience.
