For st Patrick’s day weekend staff behind bar were not friendly and had no proper vodka also junior sweet booked very disappointed it was very basic also car parking was not free you had to pay separate so it should be free for guests

Had to wait to check-in. No real explanation. Despot not arriving until 15.45 we had to wait until after 16.30hrs! Also receptionist was not very helpful with the parking. Bar staff seemed to be overstretched and not really know what they were doing.

Proximity to transport links with the City. Good breakfast with plenty of choice.

There weren't enough staff on a lot of the time. The staff who were on were working hard but they had to be in multiple places at once. At breakfast there were only two staff on and the place was very busy. When we went and had food in the bar on our first day there, there was only one staff member on who was getting pulled from the lounge to the bar and out onto reception so the service was slow. One of the lifts always seemed to be broken too so there was usually a queue/decent wait for the one working lift.

Good location with lots of buses and the train near by. Nice big room which was clean and the beds were very comfy.

Had dinner at their restaurant with family, very very poor service, had to wait for an hour for our starter, and then had to wait again for the main course, and sat next to our empty plates to have our dessert for another 30 minutes, no one seemed to be bothered about anything.

Honest feedback for consideration. Hospitality: No welcome at reception and no information given. Ie. Breakfast times, check out info etc. Equally no one to greet us at breakfast so we just walked in. Due to this no info given here either so was a guessing game. Breakfast was stone cold and it was only on sitting down having got our breakfast that we realised we could have ordered from a menu. Some info on arrival would have been helpful but seemed to be an absence of staff. Just a bit of simple hospitality seemed to be lacking from the staff. We rarely saw any. Room: The room was nice on the eye, spacious and comfortable but sadly the lights were faulty and flashing continuously. Shower curtain and grouting were mouldy. Single duvet inside a double sheet on the single bed. Which is uncomfortable and poorly managed. Broken lamp. Extremely dirty fan (air con) clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The operating station for this gives out a bright light in the night. Personal thing, but I like the room to be dark when going to sleep. It was like having a night light on in the night that you couldn’t turn off. Beds not particularly comfortable, too hard. Biscuits with tea and coffee facilities would have been a nice touch. Don’t think we’ve stayed anywhere before that doesn’t offer these. Location: Tube station a 20 minute walk from the hotel. This was my fault for not checking the distance before hand but because we had to make a few trips out during our stay this was irritating. All of these things could be easily rectified so just giving honest feedback. We stay in a lot of hotels and sadly for the price we expected a higher a standard of hospitality, cleanliness and attention to detail. It’s a shame as a really lovely hotel.

The hotel itself is lovely as you walk through the door. Lovely reception area and classy and tasteful music. Very pleasing on the eye and a warm feeling.

They didn't provide few things in the room, like a toothbrush kit, room slippers, etc. which we have to ask them particularly. Otherwise, the overall room was good and clean.

The staff of the hotel is good, they allowed us early check in. The location of the hotel is pretty good. It is well connected with transportation.

The first room we were given on check in was not the right room nor was it cleaned. Upon complaining we were immediately moved to the correct room.

Difficult to get a taxi on evening of 5th. No reply to taxi phone in hotel foyer. It just rang out.A relative arranged one for us eventually.

Bathroom not clean (remaining pubis hair on the ground!) Not possible to stop the ventilation and the minimum was loud during the night No sign as per where breakfast is - located in the old part - cozy but humid and well used. Entrance smells chlorine from the swimming pool 2 floors down!

There never seems to be enough staff especially in the bar and restaurant. The manager constantly falling out with the staff in front of the customers. The staff moaning about the management in front of the customers. The bar lacks the professionalism and atmosphere it used to have. The breakfast is good quality but all of the food was cold, and again lacks the staff to clean tables.

I’ve stayed at The Crown many times, it’s a great hotel with lots of charm and character that makes you feel like you’re staying in a top quality hotel.

Could not get temp in room below 19 with the aircon system so had to turn it off. Breakfast was good but not very warm.

The hotel is a basic 4 star , Externally the entrance is not kept very well The Hotel is a beautiful building but the bedrooms and the decor are showing signs of wear . There are no sockets on the wall where the beds are, We requested an extension lead from 2 different staff members but it never arrived , The only sockets are next to the TV in a room with 3 large beds We had to move a bed so it was near the TV where there was a Plug/socket as 1 of our guests had a small Sleep Apnea machine. When we moved the bed it hadnt been cleaned/hoovered underneath in a long time . The Senior Staff member picked up the tissues under the bed we moved but never replied or came back with an extension lead and it was too late to buy one locally.
