눇Beautiful scenery and friendly staff. Wonderful place to relax and meet other interesting vacationers. Dinner was excellent. Walking paths provide a great opportunity to explore the surroundings, and even see the local deer.

눉Fawlty Towers! Very small room (Ogilvie) into which (incredibly!) a four poster bed had been jammed.. No space on bedside table for anything due to huge antiquated telephone system (had to move it to fit my book). Large flatscreen TV strategically positioned not only to block the (nice) view out of the tiny turret window but also to be unwatchable from anywhere remotely comfortable. (Moved that as well). Handheld electric shower over bath was a trickle so ended up having a bath instead (which was fine). Discovered light over the mirror didn't work--not entirely surprised as neither did one of the room overhead lights. Kettle in cupboard and had to hunt for socket-finally located one nowhere near a usable surface so had to move a chair to act as a table--and discovered very nice shortbread but alas no fresh milk, and then--YUCK!--two used teabags in the teapot. I rinsed out the teapot and was happily eating the scone the nice front desk girl had brought up, until I discovered the hair in the jam and lost my appetite. After this, I was apprehensive about dinner, but it was fine, although extremely small and very expensive, and we were not impressed with the £5 supplement for the cheese plate option for pudding, or the eye-watering markup on the wines (4X). Disappointingly for a £130 meal (including the aforementioned cheese x1 and a half bottle of cheap beaujolais at £22) the music was loud-ish pop (which they turned down on request, but still not what you'd expect in an elegant dining room) and the decor was clearly leftover from their last stint as a wedding venue--all shiny white slipcovers. Breakfast was fine--nice fruit salad, perfectly done poached eggs--but again the loud pop music, and lukewarm coffee.
눇The location is superb--right in the middle of the Glen, completely remote, with excellent walks right from the doorstep. Dinner small and expensive, but interesting and well crafted. Bathrobes a nice touch, banana bread with my tea was delicious, as was the shortbread(sadly left unappetizingly buried in the cupboard with the kettle.) Staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good. Lounges nice enough, with coal burning stoves, warm and comfortable, nice to be able to order dinner while having our pre-dinner drinks.

눉Midges by the river. Not the hotels fault but they were an annoyance if you went outdoors.
눇Homemade marmalade. Food really tasty and well presented.
