We didn't like the lack of basic equipment and cleaning materials. The crockery was really minimal - 2 large plates, 2 small plates etc., yet the apartment had a put-you-up chair for a child to stay as well as 2 adults! It also had a dish-washer but I doubt if it's ever used because you might need another cuppa before the wash goes through! Jay cloths, tea towels, toilet brush, chopping boards, additional toilet rolls (2 provided), dustpan and brush - we were told that these items were not supplied because of hygiene. Having said that - we appreciated that the apartment was clean upon arrival.

It was not very clean...dead flies on all the window ledges. No basic equipment, eg tea towel, jay cloths. Everything had to be bought. It would have been helpful to have had 2 keys per flat, as the 3 adults in one of the flats had to constantly be checking who was likely to return to apartment first, and therefore have the key. Their bathroom needed re cleaning. We asked for new towels mid week, which they gave, but it would have been nice to have had towels exchanged automatically.

    Lovely setting.

Quite run down; no cleaning services or ability to change bins or get a hoover. Doors and windows very stiff and quite a lot of very squeaky, unstable floorboards. Inability to properly close windows. Need a car to travel at night, walk to town unlit and unsuitable for single or young travellers.

I loved the location, very friendly staff but not a lot of staff around.

For us, the apartment being on several levels was not ideal. The cutlery crockery etc provided was very sparse.

The apartments are in a good location, quiet but not isolated. Meals available in the hotel very useful, although we didn't have any on this occasion.

    The location,

The location was great, a 15min walk into keswick, which is lovley, we used it as a base for our touring weekend of the lakes, the property is in need of a refurbishment through out, in the apartment we had we had to reset the boiler every time you needed hot water, and there where 3 light bulbs out in the lounge area, we went to eat in the holtel, the bar menu was suspended and only two beers on tap out of 6, so we went to the local pub down the road, we had a great weekend but the accommdation let the stay down, wouldn't go back

Staircase in Derwent Manor Apartments was really dirty, looked like it hasn't been cleaned for 2 weeks or so but our apartment was really clean.

Breakfast was tasty however not many vegan options. Food we ordered in a bar was freshly cooked and really tasty.

The cleaning regime in the apartments could be raised a notch. They are either not vacuuming or need something a bit stronger as there were quite a few dog hairs left about the place. Also mould in the bedroom which I found odd, in the bathroom I'm not too bothered as you sort of expect it. Just attention to detail really.

It is a great location with great onsite parking at the apartments. The price I paid was less than I'd have expected for an apartment. Full credit to the person at reception that quickly helped deal with a water leak. Yes some of the appartments are a bit tired now and I'm not quite sure why they don't have tea towels or anything to clean the dishes with (they cost pennies and can easily be replaced after every stay).

it was dated which would’ve been fine had it not been for the general lack of care afforded to the property. To elevate this dated self catering property I feel the following touches would be helpful to make it feel as if it is looked after and just not left between stays, proper sized cups and glasses, cooker top that works, a kitchen bin that isn’t broken, a tea towel, hotel style condiments to make a cup of tea/coffee, a couple of dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher, all lights working - outside light wasn’t working, blinds that close in upstairs bedroom, jagged flooring addressed in kitchen.

it was in a really good location, only a few minutes drive from Keswick. it was also a great property for a family trip with the second bedroom being on second floor and first on ground floor. nice sized rooms

Like many of the published reviews we thought the apartment and building are in need of refurbishment. Lack of attention to detail was evident throughout. The kitchen window frame was so badly rotted it was impossible to open for ventilation. Kitchen crockery was insufficient and of poor quality. Badly fitting internal doors. Terrible shame really.

The apartment was reasonably spacious and had two en suite bathrooms.

Generally get the feeling that the apartment hasn't undergone a good clean in a while. There was a dusting of dead flies on the bathroom window sill, cobwebs throughout and the net curtains in the bedroom were filthy. Not the hotel's fault, but there was no O2 coverage at all. Had to do all calls and messaging on WiFi. Mobile coverage improves as you get closer to the town.

Great location, set in a wooded area, a pleasant 15 minute walk from the town. Good location to start walks. Wifi is unsecured but generally strong. Outdoors space was pretty with lots of songbirds and decent places to sit. Good parking close to the apartment. Apartment wasn't ready, no towels or bedlinen, dirty pans left in the kitchen, and boiler not working, but was all sorted quickly by the GM once reported. Staff were generally courteous and helpful.

Problems with wifi (no one could fix it) Dead rodent under the cupboard meant that we had to ask to move to get away from the smell. 3 kitchen appliances with only 2 sockets meant we had to lift the microwave across the kitchen to use it and use the kettle sat on the hob!

Good wifi (when working) Good sized accommodation Free parking Good location
