Beds to high and hard not have good sleep

The food was not very good. The Spicy Cajun Chicken Burger was terrible with a brioche bun that was rock hard, perhaps past its best. A visit to the bar was not a great experience as I had to go and find a member of staff in another part of the building to do some drinks.

The venue was lovely and equipped to do what we needed.

maybe some more staff. I know it's a hard to cover staff costs. but it seemed they were slightly under staffed. but this did not effect my overall stay

WI-FI was a little intermittent but didn't affect my trip. There was a little noise from other guests until about 22.30 but after that it quietened down and sleep was undisturbed. No other negatives.

The room was very large and with plenty of space. There was a good selection for breakfast, continental & full English, it was of a good standard. The bed was very large and plenty of pillows, the room also had air conditioning (but not required)

Saraa (hope that’s the correct spelling) is an absolute credit to the hotel, she was so attentive and really friendly at mealtimes. Gym seemed really well equipped, great trail for running/walking running alongside the hotel.

Unable to get the room cool enough for a good night's sleep, even with the wind wide open. This was a major issue. Small issue, but the second chair in the room was really an office chair and was too upright for relaxing in front of the TV.

Other than the cooked Full English breakfast there were very few options for breakfast and when croissants or chocolate rolls were finished they were not replenished.

The overall hotel and service were very good, good parking facilities.

Clean and comfortable. Nothing exceptional but up to expectations. Would visit again. Very convenient when walking the Pilgrim's Way as it is right on the path.

Curtains let in a lot of light. Slanted roof made room feel a little cramped.

Breakfast was fantastic - really well cooked. Staff were lovely and helpful. Escape room was a fab way to spend the evening Mattress was really comfortable and shower was lush.

The room key-card access was confusing. as there were a number of unsightly holes in the door and it wasn't clear how to gain access to the room. The room telephone was equally confusing and it was impossible to readily answer/retrieve a welcome courtesy call from Reception, or to readily return the missed call to Reception. One of the 2 telephones had a flashing ‘low charge/battery’ warning light, even though it had been left in the mains-powered charged holster for a long while (judging by the cold temperature of the room). The room wasn't heated/warm on arrival; the only way to achieve a comfortable temperature in to the early hours was to keep the warm air-conditioning on, which is noisy and dries your throat. Therefore, adjustment needed to rectify, which disturbs sleep. There was no bath in the en-suite, but ample room for one, for those who prefer a bath. The tiny complimentary bottles of shower gel & shampoo were wholly inadequate (tight cost-cutting).

The member of staff on duty for breakfast was lovely - friendly, engaging & helpful; as was the receptionist and bar manager.

The breakfast was average tasting. Edible but it wasn’t anything special. Plus there wasn’t a lot of fruit variety or yoghurt options - main thing they had was the full English breakfast. Wish there was more options especially for people who are gluten free.

The room was spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated and clean. The staff were always friendly and the decoration of the reception was lovely themed. Also the outside was lovely to see in the day and night.

One particular member of staff made our breakfast really uncomfortable- we had no shoes as we had walked to hotel, had blisters and hiking boots muddy.

A two day stay and the room was very clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good bar and restaurant - food was lovely, although did feel that the cooked breakfast could have been a bit hotter. Great parking

Breakfast was disorganised. Ordered eggs which went to the wrong table and then came too late. We were part of a larger group but we were not able to sit together as some tables were 'reserved' but not used.
