Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing really, just be aware the pub is busy so if you want to eat there book a table. Even so they managed to acommodate us.
Great room, super food and especially the breakfast. Lovely pub to chill in during the evening. Would go back any time!

United KingdomThere wasn't very many options on the Continental breakfast so on the second day we had breakfast elsewhere. Maybe nice to have a croissant/fruit and yogurt option.
Full English was good and scrambled eggs were nice, coffee was really good. We ate both nights in the pub and the food was good and very good value. The pub was nice and cosy.

United KingdomThe main light fitting wasn't working, which we didn't realise until late, so we managed without. The mattress was an old fashioned spring-type one, but that said it was comfy enough! The electric shower was a bit feeble but OK.
Great value, great location for us, ample parking. Lots of shelves to put things on, and plug sockets! Clean, dry and warm. Peaceful courtyard location of a nice pub with friendly staff.

United KingdomThe location was further out of town than we realised when booking & the steepness of the hillside meant we needed to drive & not walk to the town. I appreciate that the terrain was not the pubs fault & we should of done a little more research on the exact location. The room was a reasonable size but was dirty with many cobwebs, & unfortunately had no view of the beautiful countryside. Overall I was disappointed we paid £90 for Bed & Breakfast only to be told on arrival breakfast was £10/head extra making the total cost £110. Having stayed in many B/B'S throughout our wonderful land, I would of not expected to pay more than £75 including breakfast for something of this quality.
Breakfast was excellent staff were helpful & friendly.

United KingdomNothing overly negative, just personal preference that the bed was very hard. Also if you are planning to walk into Matlock (which is not Matlock Bath) the hill back up isnt for the faint hearted. We would have ventured out if staying more than one night as the high street seemed to have some good craft beer places and restaurants.
We booked this hotel for the location as we had planned a hike around the surrounding area, this was a great hub. The price point on a Monday evening was good and we opted to decline breakfast as up out earlier the next day. Although only a few rooms booked out for the evening the staff were really friendly and attenuative, ensured we could get a meal before kitchen closed and also shown us to our room. The room was small, but good for the 2 of us after a 12 mile walk - We always opt for Green King Inns as we know the standard to expect with a good food menu, standard of rooms and bar area.

United KingdomToilet roll holder height excessive. Couple hairs in bathtub (didn't use). Poorly lit main room. Only 2 clothes hangars.
Radiator height perfect. Beautiful building & area. Handy pub facilities on site. Not far from amenities. Good value. Free parking. Nice staff. Adequate for 1 night.

United KingdomThe room is quite dark - because the building is old but the lights banish the shadows. The pressure on the shower wasn't the best but that's hardly the fault of the hotel.
I've stayed here several times now. Its recently changed hands and they are making improvements and updates. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and charming. Tea/coffee was available in the room as were toiletries. There was WiFi supplied too. The room was clean and had a television. The bed was comfortable and the accommodation suited my needs.
