I booked it for a special birthday weekend away, on arrival I found out about some technical issues and we needed to move. I was really worried but we have been upgraded, service and the standard exceeded my expectations and we had an amazing weekend! Great standard, super clean, delicious and big breakfasts. Special thanks to Julie from reception, who handled this situation perfectly! Even our puppy had a special treat and gift waiting for her. Lovely place, great people, can't wait to go back! The breakfasts were excellent. The location good, but the roads to it appalling. Gorgeous environment.

We should have been told in advance that our room was not in the main building but in a lodge. There should have been an anti-slip shower mat in the shower which got dangerously slippery in use. I wish hotels in England would provide face cloths with the towels (as they do in the US).

Unfortunately our only criticism of the place was our room had a badly repaired bath and requires replacing and had wrong shower head fitted apart from that perfect wear and tear items

It may have been the time of year but the Restaurant was shut on Sunday. As were a lot of other venues .

It was quiet and secluded. Room was comfortable and the bar and restaurant quality was very good.

The whole stay was great. The room although not massive, was warm, cosy and spotlessly clean. It had everything you could wish for. Comfortable bed, large shower, all the usual facilities. It was especially good as we took our dog, which the room catered for. In addition there was a nice outside seating space in front of the room, albeit the weather put a stop to us using that. The staff were superb, attentive, very polite and helpful at all times, as was the restaurant allowing us to take the dog in with us for breakfast and evening dinner instead of leaving her in the room alone. As for the food, well this was amazing, Great breakfast options cooked as requested, plus home cooked foods for dinner, great variety on offer especially the specials. Highly recommend the Lamb Shank, what a meal that was. You will not be disappointed with the food. Also the grounds are very nice as well with the ponds, the fountains and the grounds to walk round, its a very nice and relaxing location.

We were disappointed to find the kitchen is closed on a Sunday evening and the cooked breakfast was ok, but not amazing.

The breakfast was good, the location was lovely, very peaceful and very central for our needs.

Excellent carvery with ample portions. Restraunt area bright, clean and well decorated. Service was polite and efficient. Bedroom was very comfortable and clean. Nicely decorated. The area is very quiet. Breakfast was very good.
