Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The sharing area like the sofa, table, microwave and fridge are dirty. Most people for short stays so don't bother.
Clean and comfortable bed. Quiet neighborhood. WiFi. Friendly and responding reception staff even just two staff in the accommodations, but they are accessible. Easy to locate the accommodations location.

No lift for heavy luggage so be warned. But wasn't a big issue.
It was near to Gatwick Airport for our connecting flight and due to our late arrival access was easy. Unfortunately we had no hot water in our room but we received a discount from our original price due to this.

It seemed that 2 of the electric sockets were not working, neither was the light above the bed.

We had an early flight so didn't sample the breakfast. However we were pleasantly surprised that we could use the dining space to eat our own evening takeaway, and that facilities such as a microwave, fridge and cutlery were available to use. Beds were fine, but could hear noise from other rooms and bathrooms. But, for the price it's a good value option. It's a short walk to here from Horley train station, and a short walk from here to the Holiday Inn or Travelodge, where you can catch the Gatwick Hoppa to North or South terminals.

Right near reception and the main door so a bit noisy. No bath even though 8t was included in room description.
A lovely clean and comfortable room. I think it was very new and had only just been turned into a room. People on reception were l9vely.

Shower took a little time to warm up but it didn t hinder my enjoyment of the place.
The staff were excellent. Very accommodating when I needed to arrive early. The evening curry was reallt nice too.

Nothing much to say, we would say that maybe adding some cutlery would be really great aside from tea cups and plates.
The cheapest place to stay nearby Gatwick Airport and of a good value. It has restaurants nearby and a few supermarkets. Ideal for a short-term stay for those planning to spend a night or two before getting to the airport. The room is clean, free parking (which is a good bonus), friendly staff.

The only thing that we really missed this time was the ability of having a hotel based pick up and drop off at the airport. However they did help us book our return to airport with the taxi company as our phone did not work in the UK.
The room exceeded our expectations. We had stayed here years ago and our room this time far exceeded what we expected from our previous stay. The staff was super helpful with one of the female staff letting us use her own umbrella so as we could go out for supper. We were very pleasantly surprised.

The restaurant was sorely lacking in table service, no cutlery unless asked, no napkins s&p…the samosas and the naan were quite likely store bought and pretty disappointing. The curry was nicely flavoured but quite fatty. Wish we hadn’t been too tired to have walked the 5 min into town.
The lodge is on the old side but decently maintained. It’s nothing fancy, but the room was clean, the beds comfortable and the hosts pleasant.

The road was quite loud. There was also a fire exit in my room and there were fire exit lights above all the doors making the room quite bright at night.
The room was modern and clean, the owner was very friendly and informative and the location is convenient; just 6 minutes to Gatwick North terminal by bus and less than a 10 minute walk to the train station.

Good size room and very clean . Great location to stay before flying from Gatwick Airport with the bus stop a minute's walk away (£2 bus fare to either terminal ) Easy walk into town (10 mins) and 15 mins walk from the station (or bus £2) Would stay here again if flying from Gatwick .
