We had a fabulous welcome from Elizabeth. Really friendly, very amusing host. Exceptional room spotlessly clean. Great location, a short riverside walk to the town of Bakewell. The cook breakfast is really good and has plenty of choice. We had a lovely break. Thank you, Elizabeth, for your warm, friendly welcome.

Located about 10 minutes from Bakewell town centre the accommodation was very comfortable with great views from the dining room. Breakfast was at a set time and had to be ordered the night before. The choice was excellent and the food of good quality.

Excellent and highly recommended place to stay. The view is beautiful with well cared for wildlife just outside your window and the piteresque sight of the landscape. The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable with a tray of an assortment of refreshments. The hosts were kind and gave us information about the location and suggestions on activities, ensuring that we were comfortable throughout our stay. We enjoyed our stay enough that we arranged to stay another night.

Everything was awesome. Elizabeth and David were friendly, outgoing and informative. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. The room was neat, clean and spacious. The walk in shower and water pressure made bathing a pleasure. In all, a great place for a short or long stay. Highly recommend.

Lovely property, secluded quiet and homely. About 10 -15 minutes walk into main town centre. Excellent host. Liz was lovely and very knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was excellent locally sourced food. 5* would definitely recommend.

Nothing at all.

A lovely quiet place an easy walking distance from Bakewell town. There was space to park that was secure and convenient. The food was generous and well prepared. The lady who owns the place was lovely and gave excellent advice for things to do each day we were there. The rooms are very comfortable and more spacious than the photos suggest. Bathrooms were modern, good hot showers and facilities. The whole place was well kept and a great example of a proper English BnB.

The flooring was very creaky. Mouldy curtains that the owners knew about when we told them about it. And the quality of the breakfast.

Very friendly welcome and Liz gave us lots of information on things to do and see . This was our first visit to Derbyshire and loved it , we would definitely stay at the gardeners cottage again , and Ivan cooks a great breakfast 😊

Nothing. Just that the weather wasn’t on our side and we couldn’t enjoy the outdoor garden area, but we plan on returning in the summer time.

Really beautiful location, amazing views and was only a 10 minute walk from the town. Super lovely room, very clean bathroom and comfortable bed. The breakfast was delightful and hosts were very polite and welcoming

Large bath towels were not in the bathroom but rectified the next day. Ivan was very apologetic . Bathroom was very warm but bedroom less so. Shower fan seems to be on for a very long time and perhaps setting needs adjusting? The views from the breakfast room were spoiled by brightly coloured barriers to differentiate private outside areas.

Very warm welcome from Ivan so we didn't need to use the key safe . We had prearranged a very early arrival to enable us to park at the property and then to take the bus to Chatsworth House but we hadn't expected our room to be ready (11:30) but it was. Excellent service.

The bright yellow and green privacy barriers to the right of the property were a little unsightly. Maybe that area could be fenced off and a sign put up to say No Entry ⛔️ so visitors respect the privacy of the owners section of the property.

A gem of a B&B in a great location with a lovely view over Bakewell. Delicious cooked breakfast with local produce… the sausages were the best I’ve had in a long time. Comfy bed. Lovely and clean. Town is walkable but if you’ve got any mobility issues you’ll need to drive in.

Nothing it was faultless

We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at the Gardeners Cottage. We recieved a very warm friendly Welcome from Ivan. The accommodation is beautifully presented, very clean and cosy. It's in a very quiet location with fabulous views. Just a 15 minute walk in the centre of Bakewell. The breakfast was very nice plenty of choice and good quality produce. Elizabeth was so friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this lovely cottage

Although I'm sure some would disagree, having spent over 3 hours travelling, we would have preferred to be met personally on arrival. This gives both parties to introduce themselves and address any immediate concerns. We did have contact details if required and access details sent via email. Just a small thing and a personal preference and we are aware others may not be fussed about being welcomed personally.

Breakfast was very tasty, bed was comfortable and shower was amazing.
