Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bathroom was a little small and the carpet a bit worn
We stayed in Lascelles and this room didn't disappoint! The jacuzzi in the front bay window with the incredible view of the gardens is just perfect. The 4 poster bed is huge and i recommend you keep the curtains open so you wake up to the sun rise over the hills

Everything about Goldsborough Hall is wonderful. To spend an evening in such an historical building that is so well managed and welcoming by every member of staff is a great find.

United KingdomThe room I had had a dehumidifier running in it (red flag!) An overwhelming foul smell then came from the bathroom where presumably there is a collapsed drain. The receptionist said he’d report it to maintenance later (after I had left!)
The location and grounds are stunning! The internal decor was superb. The Bay Horse pub food was excellent

Everything. In short it is the Jewel of Yorkshire. We are already planning our next stay. To stay in a stately home which was Princess Mary’s home and still the family home of the current owners felt like a real privilege. We stayed in Plumpton room which was lovely with a beautiful view of the garden and French doors to a little terrace. Comfortable bed and good deep bath with lashings of hot water. From our arrival until departure we were greeted so warmly with lovely helpful staff. The Christmas decorations are stunning and the panelled library at night was our favourite room with a welcoming roaring open fire and twinkly lights. I could just imagine King George and Queen Mary gathered around the Christmas tree here back in the Victorian times. The drawing room was also beautiful, again with a roaring fire. Family photos dotted around was a lovely touch. Peeked in the dining room although didn’t eat here this time and it was stunning. Like something from Downton Abbey. Beautiful landscaped and immaculate grounds and we found the Royal private gate to the local church as used back in the day.

United KingdomA bit of attention is required at the rear base of the bathroom basins in the Hutton Suite. The reflection in the mirror is a little off putting and belies the overall very clean facilities. Also, the room does not have a vanity unit making it a challenge for my wife to do her make up. The bathroom does not lend itself for this either with limited shelf storage upon which to place anything other than basic essentials. That said, overall the room was splendid and very quiet l adding to an excellent nights sleep.
A beautiful period property tucked away in a lovely village amidst glorious grounds. The staff were all friendly, helpful and very professional from the moment Dawn called pre-visit to check on our needs to the check in process and breakfast. On this occasion we didn’t dine at the hotel in the evening for their signature 7 course taster menu choosing to eat at the nearby and very walkable Bay Horse (sister company) which was excellent. We did enjoy the excellent breakfast served in the lovely orangery with its great views of the gardens. Our thanks to all and in particular Dawn for a wonderful relaxing two night break.

United KingdomEV charging, for a Tesla on a destination charger, had to be paid to the hotel at £10 per hour. I think this is wrong. Tesla chargers are there to encourage Tesla drivers to book at the venue. They should be free.
