We got an upgrade which was appreciated. Loved the cocktails at the bar, the pantry and breakfast was great! Location is good and the room was super comfy.

A late check out of one hour was going to cost us £50, which seems really too much!

Lovely property, gorgeous rooms! The bar is lovely, as is the lounge. Food at the Pearly cow was lovely, the chips were possibly the best we've ever had. The pantry with all its snacks are a wonderful addition!

We stayed here on our mini moon! The staff were amazing so friendly and hospitable. The hotel had the most amazing facilities including a complimentary pantry, record players in the rooms and the comfiest bed in the world. Every single staff member we came into contact with was amazing! And having parking in York centre was a bonus!

You can hear street noise and other rooms noise from your room. It didn’t stop us from sleeping or relaxing. But it’s the only thing it missed to be perfect.

Lovely place. Clean, neat and very cute. The staff is polite and ready to help/assist. Shout out to the pantry with sweats and treats. I would definitely go back.

The room was very small with limited space for opening our luggage. However it’s a very old building and this is quite the norm. A ramp up the front steps would be ideal for luggage.

The staff and service were wonderful! The room was comfortable and had classy decor. The bathrobe and slippers were a welcomed touch with the wide plank wood floors in the room. The bathroom was lovely and clean. Both the room and bathroom had great lighting. I loved the free pantry of snack food. We felt like kids in a candy shop with our little treat bags!

Only negatives that a few lights weren’t working and the shower wasn’t great, could have been more powerful and hotter. Overall a great stay and will definitely return

The first night a couple screaming at each other breaking up for a couple of hours. We didn’t think it appropriate to report and have someone walk in on a domestic. Second night (Saturday) sounded like someone clanging or knocking a metal post in on a building site from 3 am - 7 am that could be heard over the entire of York I expect. Neither of these incidents were the hotels fault - just unlucky and had reduced sleep.

The staff were all wonderful, excellent quality and comfort. Very clean.

Nothing we didn't like...just the fact we wishec we had booked an extra night!

Loved everything about this little gem of a hotel. The location, the beautiful decor, friendly service. Fabulous tasty breakfast with everything sourced locally .The little quirks and complimentary touches ...the sweetie pantry ( which was free and very tempting) , the record player and vinyls in our rooms was a trip down memory lane.

The room was very cold when we arrived and although we were given a small heater very quickly, it wasn’t enough to keep the room warm. The staff were aware there was a problem but it clearly hadn’t been sorted. I would have liked a bigger bathroom as the shower cubicle and separate toilet were extremely small and had very little privacy with glass doors.

Just a few minutes walk from the town centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was great.

Some rooms are on the busy main road therefore occur traffic noise. We had one but they very kindly moved us for our second night.

Absolutely EVERYTHING! Incredible service, a pantry full of free snacks, beautiful decor, wonderful touch with the records and an extremely comfortable bed/ great shower
