Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location can't be beat, for access to all kinds of transport to wherever you go next, and also in the middle of many great neighborhoods to explore easily on foot. Also loved the luxurious bathrobe and slippers, and the pantry for tea any time of day! Everything is compact, but there is everything you need. We loved staying here and will stay again in the future. Staff was also incredibly kind and helpful. It was shocking how quiet it was in the room given the surrounding noise.

United KingdomThere was a slight wait for the room although we did inform the hotel of the time we would be checking in. Others have mentioned the lack of tea making facilities in the room and the size of the room was a little on the small size for what I was expecting and the price. The water pressure in the room wasn't great but we were on the top floor. The breakfast was nice but felt overpriced (£70 for two without cereal) though some of the price may be due to the surroundings which were beautiful. Unfortunately the stay was impacted by a particularly unfortunate interaction with a staff member when returning to the hotel in the evening after an event we attended. He was leaving the hotel as I was scanning my card to enter and blocked the door, not allowing us entry and questioned me, wanting to see proof we were staying at the hotel. Even though I showed him my room card he said he wouldn't hold the door for me and closed it on me. I pointed out that I would've let myself in if he hadn't been coming out at that moment. I wonder if my appearance had been different if he would have held the door for me. I've never had this type of interaction at any other hotel I've stayed, luxury or otherwise so it was upsetting. Needless to say we didn't have breakfast in the hotel the following morning. The staff during the rest of the stay were perfectly friendly so this was a sad end to an otherwise nice two night stay.
Upon arrival we were informed our suite had been upgraded, which was a lovely surprise and the staff were very welcoming. The decor in the hotel was beautiful, particularly in the bar and restaurant. The history of the hotel was partly why we booked it. We had access to a pantry with some cakes and hot drink making facilities, which was a nice touch. The views from our floor and our room were wonderful and the location was very central. The room itself was comfortable, with a good mattress and the addition of bathrobes and slippers. The small decorative touches in the room were in keeping with the overall aesthetic of the hotel. ordered room service during our stay which was efficient.

United KingdomCereal selection was poor for breakfast - on the second day there were no cornflakes and I was releagted to Bran Flakes. Cereal & Juice is also by waiter service, whereas my preference for these item is buffet selection.
A comfy room, curteous service and perfect location for headsing to Europe. The breakfast takeaway pack on the last day was excellent and gave me a great early start.

United KingdomLike nearly all hotels we’ve stayed in there was a lack of table area so one suitcase stayed on floor. Also bathroom although extremely nice had no areas to put your own spongebags and toiletries. Also clean clothes after your shower had to be dropped on the floor as there was nowhere to store them actually in the bathroom.
Very clean. Very efficiently run. The room was clean and bed was comfortable.
