Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomJust to improve things, I felt the bathroom door needed another coat of paint.
We got a warm welcome on arrival. The room was very pleasant and nicely decorated. Tea making facilities were well equipped, including luxury biscuits. The breakfast was delicious, using local produce.

United KingdomEn suite needs modernising. The toilet lid wouldn't stay up and the shower was either freezing or scalding and very tight. All of the landings and stairs needs a lick of paint and a spruce up

United KingdomNothing, really enjoyed our stay and would visit again.
Fantastic location with a short walk to Skipton centre. Generous sized rooms, warm and comfortable with everything you need. Debbie was a fantastic host and made sure we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. She also let us know of local interests and the history of the building which was a nice touch. Thank you! Breakfast was excellent also.

United KingdomThe room was very hot & if you opened the window it was a bit noisy. It would be better if you had control over the rads . That was a very small quibble.
Firstly the location was brilliant. The guesthouse was great , clean , comfortable & the breakfasts were fab. The host was great , nothing was any trouble.

United KingdomBreakfast was up until 9.30 and having to be out by 10 am on a Sunday morning meant we decided not to select a breakfast option. so just room only. The use of a lounge would have been useful although it didn't affect our stay.
Easy to locate on the main street. Location fantastic. Easy access to the town and not far from all the attractions. Very friendly and helpful owner. Would definetly go back.

United KingdomThe shower was difficult to control and went hot and cold, the heating was not on during the middle part of the day. We often like to go back to the room and read or relax mid afternoon, we found it was cold in the room.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like, our only thought was it would have been nice to have a communal area to meet an have a cup of tea before going out as we travelled as a group.
First I would like to thank Debbie our host. We travelled for the Christmas market, which was a little disappointing as it wasn't that much in the way of a Christmas market, but our stay, at our guest house made up for that providing us with a much needed rest. The place was wonderfully clean, rooms exceptionally clean an cozy. Breakfast wonderful everything you could ask for, cereals, yogurts, cooked breakfast an coming to the table hot, tea coffee an juice an to finish toast.

United KingdomOnly slight niggle was my bathroom arrangement with the sink in the room rather than with the toilet although it was all very clean and we always had fresh towels and our beds were turned down each day of our stay.
The breakfast was very good and Debbie was always happy to provide more toast, tea and coffee.
