How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Understand extra charge for dog but at £25 is more than have ever paid before even at other Holiday inns. Even though rate seems reasonable when you add on £8.50 for parking as well does not seem such good value.

The car park is hideously expensive, even with the hotel stay discount. The breakfast is fine but the hot breakfast was really not that nice!
Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious rooms with a comfortable bed.

The breakfast room where you had to choose what you wanted was a little cramped.
The Hotel was in good location, a nice stroll into the City to see everything we went to see. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great stay all round.

Double bed quite small. No fried eggs. Not many teabags in room. Shower gel empty in shower.

View from window of workmen building next door not the best but for the amount of time we spent in the room it didn’t pose a problem

Too noisy both in the corridor from guests which isn't the hotels fault, and from the room next door and the guests behind the interconnecting door.

Bit disappointed with stains on divan base . Great breakfast Location was not where we expected to be , we thought we were going to Holiday inn on the river. This hotel was on a busy junction & 10 minute walk to town.

Very clean hotel from the moment you stepped out of the car , throughout the building . Lovely attentive and polite staff . Beautiful, fresh and hot breakfast .

The mattress protector on both the bed and sofa bed were dirty. The sofa bed had all food under the cushions also.
Hotel staff were very friendly. We asked for extra sheets for the sofa bed. Nothing was a problem.

It needed a mirror with natural light, near the window. The long mirror had a weird downlighter that created odd shadows🫣. It was difficult to do my makeup!
Clean, comfortable good sized room with everything we needed. Shampoo, shower gel and hand wash in the shower room. Friendly , knowledgeable staff (Lorna) who recommended a variety of local places to eat. Good breakfast.

The wifi was a little intermitemt and would have been good to have more electrical socket.
The location was excellent and the provision of on site parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The noise from the traffic all through the night. When staying a number of times previously the room allocated was on the carpark side, on this visit we were on road side. Our room on the fourth floor had traffic noise all through the night which affected our sleep. The double glazing didn't have any affect with even one car passing causing noise in the room.
Stayed here before and the general standard overall was good. Staff are welcoming and friendly with the rooms clean. Breakfast is good with decent choice.

Not stopped in a holiday Inn for a long time, but saw breakfast was included in the price. Lyle the duty manager was brilliant, sorting us a room at 1pm instead of 3pm check-in one of the best managers ive come across in years. beds were comfortable and nice thick quilts, shower was also roomy. Breakfast was great and free unlike some places that want £10 each per day

I don't have any complaints. One query: I was told the tv would give hotel information, but it went straight to programmes and I couldn't retrieve an information channel.
The staff were particularly good - warm, welcoming and helpful . I was with you just for one night, but the relaxed atmosphere, and the comfort of the lounge/bar/dining room gave me a very pleasant 'home' for the short time I was there.

No cold water at breakfast, had to buy a bottle for £2 Pillows were a bit chunky for us but only because we use thinner ones at home. We managed for one night.
Lovely room and spacious.breakfast was good and plentiful if you wanted a big meal.
