We had a perfect stay at the Hope and Anchor! The location is just perfect in the centre of the village by the beach. The staff were wonderful and very friendly, and the included breakfast was great with lots of options and fresh fruit. The room was super clean, very comfortable, finished in a lovely way and with a gorgeous view to the beach and the sea out of the window. On Easter Sunday they left an Easter Egg outside our room which was a lovely touch. And it's a great pub too with excellent food and lovely drinks and a fire! So top marks from us!

No complaints about anything. Beautiful location, spacious and comfortable room, good food and wine list plus several local real ales to choose from. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

Absolutely no criticism of the hotel but I imagine the Devon lanes may be very full with traffic trying to go in both directions to and from the hotel during high season.

Breakfast and room were both excellent, as were all the staff. Great, friendly atmosphere throughout our stay Our two Golden Retrievers were given their own welcome pack of treats on arrival! Being just across the 'no through' road from the excellent beach was a bonus, as were the views from our room.

The toilet roll holder was loose :) Coffee machine didn't work because it needed de-scaling...... Neither mattered because everything was amazing

The location was amazing and the views from the rooms were outstanding The rooms were lovely and the beds were huge and super comfortable The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful The atmosphere was warm and cosy Great evening meal and good range of drinks The breakfast was outstanding with a superb waitress ( can't remember her name , sorry but she lived 2 doors down ) she was great - the choice and quality of food were spot on The breakfast room had the most incredible views

Can only really criticise the carpet which pulled the room down . The green décor throughout is warm and comforting put could do with a lift in upstairs dining area.

The staff were so friendly, efficient, helpful and made the atmosphere so relaxed. Food was surprisingly delicious! Bathroom was a bliss , the view amazing and bed very comfortable. Very generous with good quality tea and coffee, fresh milk and iced water. Perfect!
