Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Starting to show it's age and parking is around the back of the hotel but even though I'd asked about where to park the person I spoke to shrugged shoulders and didn't tell me, luckily I found it by accident.

The only downside for us was breakfast, would have preferred a breakfast menu as we didn’t know what was on offer rather than the usual full English. Unless you ask what you get for the full English you are not told, again not everyone likes black pudding. Not everyone wants that every morning and being asked what we would like was a bit tricky. Good choice of cereals. Not much danish pastries. No yoghurts which would have been nice. Overall I think a buffet style breakfast where you can choose what you want would be much more value for money. The lovely lady serving needs to take orders and go straight to kitchen rather than take orders and have a sit down chat with the guests and leave you waiting .
Property is in a good location. Rooms are very comfortable

Historic building refurbished to a good standard. Flat screen TV. Free WiFi. Kettle in room with tea etc & biscuits. Retro trouser press. Free car parking on site. Friendly staff. Overnight say so didn't use gym..

Everything was fine couldn,t fault it.Weather cold but we prepared for thay.
Lovely location the rooms were very nice,comfy beds tv kettle nice and warm breakfast was lovely plenty of it just help youself.Had a night in the bar which we enjoyed and the tram in to blackpool right outside all day travel six pound each just hop on and off when it suits you.Overall really good car park at back of hotel and plent parking on front.

The car park at the rear of the hotel is a magnet for litter, The seasonal strong winds and wet weather didn't help but this outside area needs attention. Some of the on-street parking has been reserved for Electric Vehicle charging this didn't affect me but some may welcome this asset.
Breakfast was served in the Bar area, this is not ideal but all the evidence of the previous night's usage had been cleared away. Cooked breakfasts are prepared to the individual's liking and are delicious. We also had an evening meal and this was also cooked and presented to a high standard. All the hotel staff were helpful and friendly.

Only a small point, but the floorboards in the corridor outside my 2nd floor room were a bit creaky
Location superb, overlooking sea. It’s a joy to wake up in the morning and survey the waterfront with its old lighthouse. I booked a table in the dining room - again overlooking the sea - for lunch with old friends.

Rooms and communal area very hot. Heating way too high. Made bedrooms very uncomfortable. Unable to adjust temperature on radiator in my room . Needed to sleep with window wide open

The bed was okay, wasn't the comfiest but have slept in worse beds. Also a few hairs left in the shower.
There was a wedding going on below us which of course is fine. But after 5 hours driving you just want to get some sleep. The lady on reception was more than happy to let us change rooms to the floor above with a Seaview which was lovely
