Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Good location. Lots of other food choices in the area as well as the famous Toby carvery. Close to lots of attractions

We stayed Sunday evening and the access to our room late Sunday evening was through the nigh5 entrance. The stairs and landing were pretty mucky and littered .

The bathroom needs a sliding door on it. We found the door a nuisance.. Needs better lighting in the room.
We stayed here as we were visiting parents so it was in easy distance of their home. The rooms were warm and comfortable. Will add that Kasper one of the members of staff was outstanding. But all staff were warn and friendly.

Food isn't great although there are fast food places across the road. Breakfast has nothing other than fried stuff and tea / coffee. No juices/ cereals etc which lets it down
Room clean and tidy although wet room bathroom needed work - Drain grubby looking and no toilet roll holder - it was on the back of the toilet. Food is what it is - if you like carvery I guess you will like it but it isn't the best carvery I have had either. They say do one thing well but Toby don't quite manage that at this location (I have to be honest it has put me off eating at other Tobys) Breakfast is poor quality and no continental options or even cold drinks included at breakfast. Staff are really friendly which is great when your away on your own and the beer is good. Most importantly of all for me is the the location which is great for QE hospital. With free parking and just minutes from the motorway I have stayed here a number of times for hospital appointments as it is easy and convenient and cost effective

While the inside was very clean, the outside was littered with cigarette stubs. Also the lightning in the room was very dull.

The bed was a bit hard to sleep on but it wasn't horrible.
We were late for check in but they still helped us and let us in. The room is very nice and spacious. The bathroom also has everything you need. We were assisted whenever We needed something. We also had complimentary coffee and tea in the room which is really nice.

Clarity of night access after 10pm
Always friendly staff. Rooms surprisingly quiet given near a main road. Good free parking with a handy row of shops opposite.

Everything is perfect
I like everything about this accomodation. The staff is very helpful and super nice. The way he greeted us is amazing. The room is larger than in the photo, you can easily be comfortable with the room. The bathroom is clean, they served us with face towels, body towels, and various amenities. Coffee, tea, and water heater are the perfect match for your stay. Television is working perfectly. The room is tidy and clean. The architecture of this hotel is also wonderful. I will surely go back to them when I visit Birmingham

The booking website was pretty hopeless.. It told me there were no rooms available for a 2 night stay.. But when I booked each night individually there was no issue at all.. And the website is clunky and not very user friendly

Queues in the carvery and the rather noisy and chaotic restaurant. I found your repetitive questions on confirming my booking irritating. You asked my age as date of birth, rather than age group, 3 times which I found intrusive and unneccessary

It stated on the website that is was close to the NEC when in fact it was either a £35 taxi ride direct or £15 taxi in to New Street Station then a train in to the NEC trying to do the latter journey during rush hour was a nightmare and made us late for the morning classes at Crufts

Checkin slow as at the bar which is busy. No heating on in the room on arrival, very cold until radiator kicked in properly. Access to rooms is through the middle of slot machines permanently in use by men who stared, made me uncomfortable.
Clean room and bedding. Comfortable sleep. Security key entry to rooms.
