Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThere were no complementary bottles of water in the room. I asked at the bar and was charged over £9 for water !!! Had to keep the shower running for a good length of time before it heated up ! There's a water conservation card in the bathroom about towel washing etc... didn't seem like much conservation when you have to let water run for at least 10 mins before it heats up . I had 2 lukewarm showers!
The accommodation was good value and carparking was easy. Lovely beer garden and the food was good. Its a dog friendly bar.

United KingdomBooking. Com misled us by putting up the original price and writing that aswell as tea and coffee making facilities, wine or champagne would be available in the room! Not Hand and Sceptre fault so beware. On saying that the wine list prices were extreme to say the least. The food was good and competitively priced but the wine extortionate which did actually put us off dining there after the first time. The house red wine was very poor for the price. Bathroom small and the shower screen not adequate enough for double headed shower
The location, the food. Booking .com misled me by .

United KingdomNo bath in the small bathroom which had limited headroom. Abrupt manner of waitress during evening meal.
Value for money. Excellent cooked breakfast (at additional cost). Good position for visiting Hever Castle, Chartwell House, Scotney Castle etc. Comfy bed but bedroom on the small side.

United StatesIt was an all round great stay. Nothing negative springs to mind, especially at the price we paid. Slight hiccup on check in when their system was showing 'fully booked', but this maybe as we'd reserved online at the last minute - there was no issue.
Once a roadside pub, the owners have excelled in making this a great stopover place, nice room/shower/view (of the cricket pitch and church). Easy parking and access (not sure about disabled access for the rooms though). Very tasty breakfast in a relaxed open plan room, full English plus croissants cooked to order. I would stay again, especially given that the area is somewhat short on choice for accommodation.

United KingdomOur room looked out onto the car park and we were woken at 6.15am by the huge food delivery lorry that kept its engine running for 30 minutes. Just bad timing I guess as a different day that may not have happened.
The beds were really comfortable and the room was warm and recently decorated with added touches like the bed boulsters which gave it that extra luxury feel. No fuss check in and very laid back style.

United KingdomNot much really, except maybe the reception - the one guy who was there seemed to be doing everything (bar service, reception, waiting tables ...) and though he was pleasant enough, he wasn't a natural. Breakfast service was also a bit odd and "distant" though the food on offer was great.
I was initially a bit worried that - as this is a large and very popular pub - the rooms might be noisy, but not at all. We were on the top floor and our room was very quiet. It was great to have a nice restaurant on site with no need to book - we just walked down, enjoyed a drink in the bar and then a leisurely (and very good) dinner at a reasonable price. We really rated the breakfast - anywhere that offers Eggs Benedict as one of the choices is fine by me. Also, there is plenty of onsite parking (a big advantage in the Tunbridge Wells area, where parking can be difficult to find and very expensive).

United KingdomAll fine,,just the lack of staff in the morning...
Lovely spacious room, tea and coffee gratefully received in room (my friend and I were running a half marathon a mile away so this was perfect). We left at 7 30am and had been told a member of staff would be around to leave key with, but place wa deserted, so had to leave key in room .... hope that was OK. Shame we missed out on 'complimentary hot/cold drinks in the morning '
