Fantastic location. We parked our car in the compact carpark for the duration of our stay and was included in the price. Large room overlooking a public carpark. The large bathroom appears to be recently done but could do with more shelving and holders, Bedsheets didn't fit the bed! The twin beds were pushed together and there is only one bed side table. Tiny TV. Great breakfast in a lovely setting with sufficient variety offered. Staff are friendly work hard.

The building is old and there are steep steps up to the door. The room was basic and the furniture old. However, the bathroom was modern and everything was clean.

The location was excellent as we intended to visit the Mary Rose exhibition, which was just over the road. Gunwharf Quays shopping and restaurant complex was five minutes walk away too. The downstairs was nicely decorated and well maintained. A small but free hotel carpark was a short way from the hotel. Food in the restaurant was excellent and offered both a European and Asian menu.

They had a function on in the dining room that evening, so no meals available till after 8pm. But after a short while i was offered the same meal as the function and a very reasonable price. So can only say thank you to the man behind the bar who arranged it. so no complaints

Check in is at 3 p.m. and not a minute before, never happened to me in a UK hotel before or since.

Our room, number 4 didn't have a view of the surrounding area. It's about a 25 minute walk to the city center of Portsmouth

Location is great, just across the Historic Dockyard of Portsmouth. Breakfast was good and the breakfast hall was beautiful. The staff was very friendly. When we arrived they booked us on a room with only 2 beds but after seeing that we were with 3 people, they quickly rebooked us to another room. Private parking was very good

Very uncomfortable and small bed. Shower weak and difficult to get a comfortable temperature

The pillows were a bit uncomfortable. The water pressure in the shower was very low. We had hoped to have the Japanese menu but it was the chef's night off and the English food was not very good.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The lift was new and efficient. The room was a good size and had a view of the harbour. There was a large TV.

The coffee isn't great and the bed in room (single) was very hard (... Beyond a " firm mattress" into something less hospitable). This didn't detract from the overall good impression though.

Location was great. Very friendly welcome and also the service at breakfast was great (as was my amazing breakfast sandwich). Very spacious single room with excellent shower.

The room overlooked a large extractor fan which was very loud when the windows were open. There was also a lot of noise from pipes early in the morning which made it difficult to sleep.

We were at the top of the hotel but we could hear a lot of noise and the trains going in and out of the station. It was also quite cold.

It was a well kept hotel and breakfast was fresh cooked.

There was a long wait for the evening meal. The muzak was intrusive and unnecessary. The actual food was disappointing when it finally arrived

Would have liked a bath in the room, although this wasn't a major issue especially as ours was a short stay.

Staff were very helpful, our special requests were attended to, and nothing was too much trouble. Having a restaurant on site was a bonus and we enjoyed our meal there. The restaurant staff were equally courteous and just as helpful as the reception staff. The location is excellent for most facilities. Our room was very comfortable and the view very good, although we missed out on having the full window view as those rooms were taken.

In room 27:- 1) Dirty carpet 2) No door to bathroom 3) Light above bed did not work 4) Wall power socket by aerial socket did not work 5) Double wall power socket opposite TV was ALWAYS on even with switch off 6) Bathroom sink drained very slowly, as though badly blocked, resulting in suds around sink 7) Water pressure in shower low

1) Friendliness of staff. 2) Dining facilities (Captain's Table) and menu. 3) Nice size of shower cubicle. 4) I liked that the room was serviced daily rather than just once a stay. 5) Apart from the stained carpet (see below), the room looked in very good order, as though it was recently decorated.
