Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Got a little hot at times in room but couldn’t leave window open at night due to traffic noise. Breakfast would run smoother with extra pair of hands.
Staff friendly and helpful. Could leave luggage at beginning and end of stay. Clean. Comfy beds. Location to Paddington Station ideal and close to Hyde Park .

Bathroom had no towel rails! Shower had no shelf to put soap. Shower head did not stay in place on pole - needs mending Room 112. Toilet door knocks in to toilet bowl - overall bathroom very small.
Clean and warm. Helpful staff on front desk. Near to local shops/bars. Not noisy even though on main road. Tasty cooked English breakfast.

Room and bathroom need an update.
Location is brilliant, room was a good size but could have done with an update. Breakfast was fair but the dining room was on the small side, felt uncomfortable when full.

Late breakfast, could have been 0700. Bathroom could have been a bit mote clean, but no complaint.
I liked the location very much, and the short walk from Paddington trainstation. Good breakfast every day. Quite nice room. Friendly and hospitable welcoming.

The bathroom was too small. The breakfast didn't worth the money. It was served in the basement, in a very small room. The coffee was awful.
Great location! It is near the station, very easy to find and at very pleasant surrounding. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. We were 2 adults and 1 child and stayed in a room for 4 people. The room was big enough and the beds were comfortable.

Didn't enjoy the breakfast. It was in the basement, really hot and no air. The poor lady who was serving was also cleaning and cooking. And the breakfast itself wasn't worth the money. On the second morning we ate somewhere else.
The location is superb, just around the corner from Paddington station and Hyde park.

The pictures in booking did not represent the room's bathroom! The bathroom was a plastic toilet+shower where the toilet lid was always falling on my back and the drain was smelly. There were people coming into the room and knocking and we're on the wrong door a couple of times. All the floors were crooked in the house. Pictures were wrong and I highly doubt they have a sauna like in the photos. Also their security with passwords was clearly not good because before coming their account sent us a scam and I had to send booking a message about it.
Nice people at the reception.

Not too many breakfast options. The room was in the basement floor, it did not have a view and the noise from the street came through the window. It was a decent accommodation for an one-night stay, but I would not stay there for a longer holiday.
The hotel was well-reachable by public transport. The staff were nice. The room was decent, English breakfast was a classic one.

No decaf coffee available, in every hotel I've stayed at there has always been decaf available in the rooms and at breakfast. To be fair though it is also on me as I could have stated before hand i don't drink any caffeine. Breakfast was dreadful. Their idea of a full English was an egg, about a spoonful of beans, a hash brown, a sausage that had the texture of cardboard and a piece a bacon that was like chewing rubber.
Room was perfect for a our 2 night stay. Not something for a long stay though

The radiator was at the breathed and made bed very hot. Breakfast hot food came out as just got cereal, all items on plate not asked what we wanted. Ran out of coffee waited 10 minutes for lady to refill and gave up, made one in room

Room little bit small for 3 people (but we are in London it's ok), missing some continental option for breakfast.
Excellent location, well connected to public transport (Paddington), nice and clean room, excellence English breakfast. Great service from hotel manager Kevin for questions on transportation, food and entertainment. Good job !

The rooms were very dated, temp in room was too high, for a family of 4 the bathroom size was way too small. Breakfast was full english and tasty but very limited if you didnt want this.

The initial room we were in was cramped with a very tiny ensuite and had a damp smell that got quiet intense. However the reception staff corrected this and moved us to an alternative room. The alternative room was a good size for 3 people and lacked that damp smell.
The staff, there were two reception staff who were very helpful. This included a multitude of things from organising parking, giving directions, providing assistance with ordering taxis and how to use the underground and moving luggage. The breakfast staff ensured the breakfast room was well stocked and clean and cooked a hot breakfast in record time.

no one to meet me on reception and no way of contacting anyone for 15 minutes. In fact anyone could have walked around the hotel without “permission”. a stale smell in the room.
