Unfortunately the spring mattress was uncomfortable.

The room was big and had tea making facilities. The view from the balcony was excellent. The hot shower was great after a day of hiking. The location was great.

We loved our stay, John was a fantastic host, flowers, chocolates and fruit in our rooms. Wonderful breakfasts and large comfy rooms - not photoshopped - as good as it looks on the site

This place was fantastic. The room was huge, with a big comfortable bed. The views from the bedroom window were stunning. Lots of nice touches such as little chocolates, lots of tea / coffee options and toiletries. John was lovely and helpful. The cooked breakfast in the morning was great. No negatives here!

We liked it all.

A very lovely property that has bags of character and a very warm and helpful host. The room had lots of little extras and was very comfortable. The location was excellent. Breakfast was very nice.

There is nothing we didn’t like great location to get to all parts of the lakes. There isn’t anything we would change.Will revisit again in the future.It’s a shame we couldn’t stay a little longer can’t wait till next year.

Very quite location room was very spacious room views out on to fields.John was an excellent host and cooks a good full English.Gave us good advise on places to visit would highly recommend.Would book again.Loved the different treats he left every day.

John, the owner, was lovely and very friendly - he even acted as a witness to another guests wedding with 2 days notice. The room was a really good size with dual aspect windows with views over hills on one side and a very well maintained garden the other, which was available for use by guests with a summer house. Breakfasts were made to order and everything was spotlessly clean. I will be going back later in the year.

Would definitely stay there again. John has been a great host; making sure we have everything we need, taking care of the facilities and helping with some local food choices. When it comes to breakfast we have nothing to complain about; full English and/or variety of other fresh items. Yet again, John made sure breakfast was ready for us no matter what time we needed it for. Really happy with our choice 😊

There was nothing we did not like.

John the owner was very warm and welcoming. Location was amazing. Room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Freshly cooked and hot. The fruit was very fresh. We would highly recommend Lane House and we will return. One of the best we have stayed at.

There was nothing I disliked. All superb

Everything was superb. The breakfast, the room, the host. It was the best room I’ve ever stayed in and John was a fantastic host. The view from our room was absolutely incredible we could see fields and the cows and it was very very quiet and helped us to relax. We had refreshments in our room, along with a wide selection of teas.
