Not a dislike…. but this is our first time to stay in a hostel that accepts dogs. Not all dog owners were following hostel policy.

Very practical, well situated and with a nice spirit to it. Perfect to take the ferry or visit the distillery the day after. Staff and customers were really friendly and engaging.

The hostel is situated in spectacular scenery. Short walking distance to Sandwich Station (highly recommended) and Lochranza Country Inn (highly recommended). Beautiful scenery & near to Lochranza Castle. Situation is great & good bus services.

The hot water machine was out of order in the breakfast room, although hot water was still available from staff member. The shower tray drain was slow so filled with water. It did drain though so no flooding.

The hostel had everything we needed and it was in a beautiful location where it was easy for us to do the activities we wanted to do. The other guests were friendly, quiet and respectful.

Lovely location. Comfy beds. Well equipped and clean self catering kitchen and dining room. Comfy sofas in the lounge area with great views, could see deer roaming from the window. Free WiFi use as we had no data signal.

We had a family room and were blessed to have a beautiful view over the loch from our bedroom. Beds were amazingly comfy with really snug duvets. Basin and little table with a couple of chairs in our family room. Very friendly meeting people in the kitchen/dining area, and there is also a lounge. People from the States, Australia, England, Glasgow etc. A couple of other families with young children or teenagers. Great atmosphere - lots of people happy to chat. The hostel couldn't be in a better location - it is such a pretty part of Arran and right on the loch, a couple of minutes walk from the castle and there is an inn which is open for drinks some but not all nights of the week, also resident red deer and of course seals sunbathing on rocks on the other side of the bay. Backdrop of mountains - hard to beat!

The kitchen felt a little cramped at times.

Very friendly welcome and service during stay. Clean room with wash basin and toilets/showers close by. Place to leave bags on day of departure so we had chance to look around before we caught bus. Gluten free breakfast available.
