Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ArgentinaThe bunk beds are not very tall if you’re sleeping in the bottom bunk mind your head. The room was not the cleanest when I arrived, but it was not that bad either.
In front of the Hendon Central Underground station which is good (take into consideration Central London is 30mins away). The staff was nice.

SloveniaThe hostel was a bit smelly, especially in bedrooms, but we got used to it, so it was not that annoying. It was also small, especially dinnig room and kitchen.
The hostel itself was cosy, the location near the metro was really useful and the people in hostel were really friendly. Kitchen in hostel was a big plus. Receptionist Nelly was friendly and very helpful.

New ZealandThe showers were our main qualm. They are button operated showers. Usually, when the button is pressed the shower will run for a short time. However, the shower I used, the button had to be continually depressed or else it would immediately stop. This made it hard to shower. Some of the kitchen cannot be used during breakfast time. Rubbish collection can be a bit late for those going to sleep early.
Loved the decor! There were maps of London as the wallpaper, as well as a plant wall, which is absolutely stunning. Every member of staff we encountered was super friendly. It was super easy to store luggage before check in and after check out, which was such a blessing for us. The luggage crates in the room are also quite large, so we were able to fit all our luggage in, which is something we couldn’t do at Smart Hyde Park Inn. The bunks have an excellent shelf, which has plenty of charging opportunities and a light. Essentially, the room is well-equipped. We enjoyed being a bit further out from the city centre, as it was a bit quieter, but still easy to get in using the metro and buses.

SwedenThe pillow has no volume and doesn't feel like you are sleeping on one and couldn't get a good night rest. It doesn't cost much to invest into new better pillows.
Happy to see Nelly again at the reception desk. Shes really friendly and has always been helpful!

United KingdomThe pillows are bit too thin. Shower buttons have to be constantly pressed and the water isn’t that warm, which makes winter months more tough. The tap water can be warmer too.
It’s the third time I’m staying in this hostel. The atmosphere is homey and cozy, beds are reasonably sized, sheets are well prepared and clean, they have updated their hairdryer (the new one is stronger), kitchen is well equipped. Staff is nice. Big compliments to their all-you-can-eat breakfast which costs £3, while you can expect having your stomach well filled with toasts, boiled eggs, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, butter, Nutella, jam, cheese, yoghurt, oats, corn flakes, milk, teabags, chocolate powder, coffee powder, and hot water. This is a great deal in London.

BrazilThe shared toilet must be bigger and have more mirrors. The showers and the water from the tap needs to be hotter and the bath water should be left on for longer, it doesn't make sense to have a timer button.
The attendances are so helpful and opened to understand the necessity of the guests. The breakfast was worth every penny per 3 pounds. Too close from the underground is a great point because the accommodation is 40 minutes from the center where there are tourist attractions

HungaryVery cold hostel. The heating is not turned on. there is no place to place things in the rooms at all. The staff is not responsible for your belongings, so if you leave something in the wrong place, they just throw it away! There is no breakfast either.

ChileIt was really far away from the city core and attractions (35 min minimum by tube). The beds are not properly private. One night, I slept on a bed with no curtains on my back, facing another bed on the open.
The staff was amazing, very helpful and kind.

Bulgaria* If the kitchen was open before 8 AM, that would be great.
* The location of the hostel wasn't that bad at all. You've got the metro station just 2 mins away, bus stop is also close by. * On a short bus ride, you can go shopping for groceries at Tesco superstore which is very affordable, especially for budget travelers, just like me. * There was a fully equipped kitchen on site, which was nice for everyone who wanted to cook or heat some food. The room for 15 which I booked was spacious & nice. * Every bed was equipped with its own lighting, USB outlet, regular UK outlet & place to put your belongings as well as a storage place under the beds, which you can lock in order to secure your items. * The staff was very polite & helpful during my stay.
