Perfect location for visit to Windsor Castle. Great hotel

Price for car park. Although private parking spaces in Windsor are few and far between, felt £40 per night was a bit expensive.

Lovely clean spacious room. Amazing location and lovely staff! Room was well equipped with tea and coffee, fresh milk was quickly bought to the room when requested. Iron and ironing board in room which is always very handy

Car parking at hotel was challenging. One day we left our room at 10 am and returned at 5 pm to find room hadn't been made up. It was quickly attended to when we reported this and we were given a free drink in the bar whilst we waited. However,we were looking forward to relaxing in our room after a tiring day.

The staff member who booked our car in. Very impatient as we had a mobility scooter and luggage to unload. We felt very imtatated.

We paid for dinner in the hotel on one evening. The waiting staff were not what you'd have expected, especially in view of the price. We had to get their attention for service. A better evening meal at the Ivy (a few doors down) was miles better and significantly cheaper the following evening.

We changed rooms for a larger room with a sitting area. It was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The room had a view of the castle and a balcony although scaffolding spoilt the view slightly. I was confused as the receptionist told me £90 for the two night upgrade but wanted £200 when I paid!. There was a reasonable choice at Breakfast and it was generally good. Concierge service was excellent.

Shower leaked over the bath as you used it because the grouting seal around the glass had weathered away so water went onto the floor. The cleanliness of the rooms and standards of this could be much higher. I understand this is a very large hotel and have limited time and staff to clean rooms in between Check ins and outs but as your paying for the Windsor you expect all areas to be sprayed and wiped clean especially in a bathroom. There was mold present in the bathroom imparticularly on the seals of the shower, bath and sink. Fixtures were loose in the room. Not enough usb links on plug sockets.

Excellent location stones are throw away from Windsor Castle 🏰 . When you enter hotel lobby you are impressed by how grand and welcoming this hotel is. And the aroma! Of scented flowers which was a lovely and calming touch to hotel guests after stressful train journey. The concierge is outstanding in their attentiveness and professional service. Always willing to help. Hotel accommodation was very spacious and tidy, facilities in the room included a hairdryer, TV, mini fridge, iron, ironing board, coffee machine, and a kettle. And to our surprise a bath a massive plus. The restaurant/room menu was very good the food was excellent. Staff were professional, attentive to your needs, very welcoming, and kind. Would highly recommend a visit and stay at the Macdonald Windsor Hotel

My room , no 311, had a noisy vent outside which disturbed my sleep as it was too noisy to have my window open.

No gym, and the gym recommended was fob pass only so we could not use it. Maybe a partnership arrangement for guests could be arranged.

Nice hotel, breakfast was very good, we ate away from the hotel in the evenings. A nice few days away. Clean, good size rooms.

Was not informed that the hotel was covered in scaffolding The car parking charge is way too expensive Coffee was poor, sent it back, they offer afternoon tea but not just a coffee and cake ? Heard three other guests checking in at a much lower price than what we paid, cheaper by £45 in one case.

Dirty toilet between loo Iid and seat and seat kept coming off the bowl Sheets didn’t fit beds so beds had to be remade when we arrived. Mattress protectors very stained and grubby Shower corners and grout black, possibly mouldy Advised staff that a wine glass had been left in the hallway outside a bedroom on the afternoon we checked in and it was still there a day later Scrambled eggs in the buffet were green on the first morning, staff removed them. Bathroom door needs to be opened when showering or the mirror steams up Scaffolding across the front of the building

Room was a good size, lots of space for suitcases, it had a desk and a table with seats so somewhere to have a bought lunch if not eating in the restaurant. The bathroom was a bit small but quite functional and plenty of room for toiletries. All Staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Dean who was exceptional. Lots of choice for breakfast. Excellent position opposite the castle and a great escape from the crowds.
